I have never owned a panini press, but my wife and children began asking for melts all the time. I purchased this just planning to use it for grilled cheese, turkey melts, hot ham and cheese, and tuna melts. It is more versatile than I expected and I use it so much now, which I never expected, that it I now keep it handy in my kitchen rather than being stored in my laundry room between uses. The digital temperature gage is very convenient. I have now used it to make sandwiches and quesadillas. I work from home and have used it to make a frozen hamburger patty and it came out perfect, even faster than I was expecting it to cook. I even did a steak on it one night when it was just me and, again, it surprised me how well it came out. I have been very happy with this purchase.

I have zero regrets buying this! Spend the extra dollars and get the digital one to control temp and you won't have any of the issues with the lower ratings.Having the ability to flip the grill plates, and also open it up flat makes this a more multipurpose tool in my kitchen which ultimately saves me space. I've used it as a flat griddle as much as I've used it as a grill press. Easy to clean, easy to use, and lots of possibilities.Sandwich press, heating up pre-made breakfast burritos to get a nice crisp on the Tortilla, I made delicious sourdough English muffins, then subsequent sandwiches. This thing is getting a lot of use in my kitchen! And nothing has burned since I can control the temp. It heats evenly and quickly.

Maybe one of the worst purchases I ever made. Whoever designed this couldn't have gotten out of the 3rd grade. Just fine for a panini, but if you put burgers on it, there is no way for the grease to drain. The unit has a tiny lip edge (maybe 1/8") to hold the grease and a whopping 1/2" wide drain on each cooking surface. The grease overflows and more ends up on the counter or stovetop than in the pan. You have to stand there the whole time to try to feed some of the grease into the tiny drain hole before it overflows, and even then, there are puddles of grease everywhere and all over the rear of the unit. A total disaster.

Solo al principio después de leer el extenso instructivo, que no le entendí con tantas instrucciones y advertencias, no podía hacer que encendiera, pues el botón "enter" es la unica perilla que se utiliza para todo, que hay que presionar para establecer la función deseada pero en ninguna parte indica eso.
