Much better than regular pliers because of the grooving, and because these pliers are WIDE, they grip both tangs of many hose clamp designs from the end position of the pliers.I’m guessing whom ever designed these pliers…was a mechanic!For the excellent price, a must have for your tool box; will save you a lot of frustration!

Well made. Precise machining. Nice finish. The machined channels are deep enough to keep a good grip on many different types of clamps. I wish they had cut channels on both sides so you wouldn't have to flip the pliers over at times. Still, a great tool that works well.
