Excellent Lens. Almost no focus breathing. Gorgeous Bokeh. Fantastic build quality.I have the 135 1.8, 85 1.4 & the 100. Samyang & Rokinon are truly delivering quality glass.

I used the sigma version before and reluctantly bought this and so far it's proved to be a far better lens, I love the colors, it's very sharp as well, currently this is my favorite lens in my camera bag.

This is a nice improvement over the well regarded version 1. The yellow tint has been reduced, the design language is elegant, but the lens hood is not a tight fit compared to the original version (it feels loose and has a slight wobble). The AF is good (not great) and the image quality is VERY good. A great option for the e-mount system however I ultimately went with the Tokina 85mm f/1.8 because of the better build quality (all metal) and the better AF performance. Although, both plastic lens hoods are poorly made, not a tight fit.

Update:::So I’m returning this lens. I’m glad for the extended return window due to Christmas. Lens was good for about 5 weeks. Pictures were pretty sharp on portraits. After 5 weeks, lens is now back focusing on all pictures and anything from f1.4 to f5.6 is just not sharp at all. Reviewing over 1200 images show a consistent deterioration in image quality. So glad I’m still in the return window.Original review: Only had it for a little over a month but images are pretty sharp. Slow AF compared to native Sony lens, so no sports for this lens, but great for portrait. So far worth the money. Will update should something change.

I love the lens and the price, but I wish they included the docking station thing for the lens firmware update or build one in the lens. I have to return it and go with the sigma Verison.

Habe mir die Linse hier für einen sehr guten Preis schiessen können.Nutze sonst außerdem ein Tamron 28-200. Im Vergleich ist die Bildqualität des Samyang einen ordentlichen Ticken besser.Autofokus funktionierte in meinen Tests bisher schnell und zuverlässig
Great lens for its price
Build quality is rather solid but it could be better. AF is very good for stills but I rarely take fast paced photos such as sports or wildlife. Very sharp at the center to mid at wide open. Contrast is quite neutral, which can be adjusted in-camera on my A7IV, and I sometimes have to bump it to +2 or +3 depending on what I am photographing. If you like having contrasty photos without having to adjust it in-camera, then go for a sigma 85mm dg dn for several more hundred dollars. Otherwise, this len's performance to price ratio is very hard to beat.
