I took a chance on this thread, as it appears to be a direct competitor to Ritza 25 which I use in all my hand sewn leather projects. It was advertised in a leather group, and was cheap enough. I attached two photos to my review, the aquamarine is the listing thread from Exkalaful - the 'natural' color is the competitor from Germany that I use in my shop. The stitched example was hammered flat.What it does good:- Excellent price per yard, this is a 852 meter spool as per the sticker on the core- Easy threading of needles- Braided construction - strong stuff!- Did I mention the price is insanely good?What it could do better:- Dye color is a bit uneven for the color I tried (Aquamarine). It has some white spots throughout the threads it is made of- The braiding of the thread is a bit looser than I would like, as I am used to the German brand- It could use a bit more wax, it slides through the hole but you can feel it chatter in the holes. It would also help with keeping the braided threads hold closer together and look better when hammered.Overall review:This is a very good deal for the price when I purchased it - roughly 2/3 the cost of the competitor and has ~50% more thread on the spool. I would definitely consider purchasing more of this stuff in more colors for daily projects, however the color issue I'm seeing on this color has me a bit cautious of using it on my higher end products I sell. I would definitely highly suggest this thread for the hobbyist, newbie, or someone looking to craft and save a few bucks.

This thread is good for hand sewing (saddle stitch for example), but the wax builds up on my Singer 29k70 needle to the point that the thread would not advance thru the needle.

As someone who enjoys camping it never fails that you'll eventually have clothing, a tent, a sleeping bag, etc. that will get a tear that needs to be mended quickly and with a thread that is durable. Firstly, the EXKALAFUL Wax thread is extremely durable, and I was extremely surprised by how much thread the roll contained for the price. Alternative brands I have purchased on Bolo have been just as durable but are half the amount of thread. You won't go wrong with this product if the thread meets all the specs that the Seller clearly lists in the product description.
