So, if I can do it so can you. I did not have an electrical box in the area of install so I bought one on Bolo with next day delivery. All that took was 2 screws. The rest was so simple using the enclosed hanger to hold the fixture while installing. Everything needed was provided. Connect the white wires, connect the black wires, connect the green ground, use the female screw to tighten it all down put the cover plug in and you are done. Go to your Blink app, which I already had, click on the + sign at the top, locate the fixture, add it and you are done. If I have one minor criticism it was trying to figure out how to implement the siren/alarm from my phone blink app. After using Rufus, which is useless, I finally stumbled upon the answer with FAQ on the blink web site. To save you the hunt you have to go to the live view and there you will find to activate the siren/alarm. I have been using Blink products for several years now and upgraded to the most recent sync module because I wanted to install the Blink doorbell/camera and the outdoor light fixture. There is also a dusk to dawn light option with the outdoor light fixture. You can also adjust the brightness of the lights and believe me they are plenty bright. Would highly recommend to family and friends.

We upgraded to the wired flood light camera from the standard outdoor 4 camera and have noticed an overall improvement to video proformance and capturing who enters our driveway.The installation was well explained, the motion detection reach the whole field of view and triggers appropriately, the lights are sufficient for adding to image clarity.There is a little delay accessing the live view, and you still cannot view while recording.Overall it works great for our needs.

Blink Wired Floodlight CameraMy familiarity with Blink cameras is limited to the Blink Minis and the Blink Doorbell and the Sync Modules. I have been reluctant to purchase any of the battery powered outdoor cameras because I don't want to climb up on a ladder to constantly replace batteries. The Blink Wired Floodlight Camera is Blink's first outdoor camera that doesn't require batteries.I purchased the camera to replace an existing motion floodlight that had stopped working. The previous fixture was mounted to an outdoor 4-inch diameter electrical box--exactly what is required for the installation of the Blink product. That made installation and setup simple. After shutting the power off, I removed the old fixture and replaced it with the Blink assembly. Blink provided all of the necessary hardware including an S hook to keep the camera hanging while made the necessary connections. Once everything was in place, I powered up the camera and installed it into my existing Blink system using the app. Connecting with the app requires inputting the camera's serial number or scanning the QR code on the back of the camera. I've always scanned the QR code on the camera, but that code is also affixed to the front page of the Quick Start Guide--a nice alternative since scanning the back of camera would be difficult after mounting. Total install time including configuring the app took about 20 minutes.It's important to note that the camera uses the Wi-Fi 2.4GHz frequency which generally offers much better range than 5GHz. With 2.4 GHz, there's less attenuation of the signal as it passes through the interior and exterior walls of the building. That's probably why Blink uses 2.4GHz WiFi on all of its cameras. Some Blink outdoor cameras including my doorbells also use a lower 900 MHz band to connect to the sync module. This camera does not appear to have this function. It connects solely through your WiFi LAN.The camera's app settings are similar to other Blink cameras with the addition of floodlight control and some other goodies not seen in the other Blink models. The first is "person detection," flagged in the app as Beta. This is a welcome feature as it should filter out many unwanted motion alerts. In my case, I want to record animals as well as people strolling through my yard so probably won't use it for this location. Motion clip recording length is now up to 60 seconds, twice as long as my Blink Minis.The camera is equipped with two bright LED floodlights which can be aimed according to preference. When the camera detects motion after dusk, the floodlights come on or it can leave them off for a more stealth recording using only the night vision. The floodlights can also be set for continuous use, dusk to dawn. They can also be turned on and off from the live view screen, the thumbnail screen or with an Alexa command. Because the floodlights can be switched from an Alexa routine, you could set up these cameras around the exterior of your house and have them all come on when motion is detected by any camera.Another feature from the "more actions" screen during a live view is an audible siren. Presently, I have only been able to activate it from the app while in the live view mode. In the future, you may be able to set up an Alexa routine that would sound the siren when motion is detected on select cameras, such as an interior camera.Overall, the Wired Floodlight Camera fit my needs perfectly. It quickly mounted in my existing box and attached to my current Blink system, replacing floodlights and adding a camera. Picture quality is as good or better than my other Blink cameras. And, there are no batteries to change.

I wanted to use this for a while prior to reviewing. I love being able to control the lighting and sensitivity levels via the Blink app. I purchased a round electrical box for this and it was simple for an experienced individual to install and didn't take long at all. Video quality is good. As far as sensitivity of motion detection, on high sensitivity, it detects small animals like armadillos and opossums. I also love being able to set the timer for the lights or as dusk to dawn. With the module, alerts are quick. I do like this and would purchase again.
