I had bought one from another supplier, and was able to extract important information from them. It is based on the 4809 integrated circuit chip, which is described as a dual headphone amplifier. However, there is only a monaural input 'MIC' jack, which feeds both the L and R 'PHONES' output. The PHONES output is not DC-blocked, and shows about 2.5V, which may be a problem in some cases. The REC OUT jack seems to have no usable output at all. The unit has an internal rechargeable battery, with a blinking LED that gives some indication of the level of charge. There is the usual USB charging cable, but the MIC-1000 end is a cylindrical connector different from the usual 5V component. I didn't determine the battery life. The available gain seems adequate for a typical microphone level signal, but it's not easy to quantify. There is a 40/60db switch. The VOLUME control with ON/OFF works smoothly with a full range. For its price, it is a useful problem solver. It's unfortunate that it does not make full use of the 4809 capabilities. The typical problem is likely to be better solved by stereo amplification.
