If you like setting the bass and treble for nearly every song, you are going to hate this receiver... But here is the good. The volume is like a modern car stereo so you don't blow speakers easily, it doesn't have a filter like some, but limits it to a tolerable distortion level at max volume. Its sound quality is poor at low volume, like when talking to someone, but from 1/4 to 3/4 it absolutely has outstanding clarity and quality for when you are driving. It gets a little fluttery when pushing it hard, but definitely does a decent job. Yes a Alpine will beat it for sound quality at max volume, but do you listen to everything at max? Its loud, clean, and with a handful of bass frequencies and treble adjustments it sounds just as good as any Alpine. It just doesn't at low and max volume. I would buy again for the price, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a decent quality head unit at a cheap price.

The JVC radio was an easy install. I put this in my 1999 996 Porsche. I tried other radios but none of them worked. The setup was next to impossible on the other radios. The JVC was simple and I can still go back in the system and adjust the sound, treble, Bass, and each speaker separately. I bought 2 up front and the second one is going in my Rat Rod!

Bought for my Jeep TJ with soft top. Great sound quality and you can use your as speaker and mic for hands free driving. There is a little echo on the other end but for the price absolutely worth it.

This unit is worthless if you are hooking up to an external amp or crossover. It will not let you bypass the crossover or speaker configuration. You are forced to use the units crossover network even when selecting through for the frequency range. If you hook up to the rca outputs only it gives you 3 speaker configurations all going to the subwoofer or rear speakers if you have any. I might have been able to use the speaker line outputs with a line converter but it's really not worth it. I started my return and am going to buy a different head unit.I've been installing car audio for over 35 years. I've built multi-amp systems with crossovers and dsp-s. I've built subwoofer enclosures and 3 way component speaker setups from scratch. Believe me when i say this unit is junk if you hooking it up to external equipment. Sometimes thing are over engineered to the point where they become worthless. This is one of those items. A head unit can't control everything which This one is trying to do. There's a reason external amps, crossovers, dsps and eq's are made.

I installed it for my neighbor, and while it wasn’t exactly plug-and-play in his Hyundai, splicing about a dozen wires wasn’t too bad. Once installed, it worked great—fixing the intermittent issues with his old radio.He was especially happy with the USB port, which was a must-have for him, and the sound quality is noticeably better than his default radio. All in all, a straightforward solution for anyone looking to replace a faulty car stereo.
Reasonable price
Unit has a lot of features and sounds good. Easy to install. Down side. Two important control buttons are very small and in awkward positions. Radio buttons have no lights. Programming immediately forces you to choose 2way or 3way speaker choice on initial start up. I can find no way to change this if you change speakers. Lastly no option to adjust sound for Frt/Rr, L/R balance, only vague general pre programed positioning. Not good.
