World’s scratchiest cat defeated by spray!
I have the world’s scratchiest cat. Love her to death but she and I moved in with my partner and kitty went about destroying the fabric dining room chairs and my partner’s favorite living room chair. Can’t believe it took me months to think of looking for a spray. I sprayed all the scratched surfaces (does smell nice and the smell fades quickly) and the result was instant—no more scratching AT ALL (though she still sits on the chairs, which is good). After 10 days I saw her scratch once, so sprayed everything again. I think the bottle will last for months at this rate—a good deal for 8 bucks. I get that it doesn’t work for all cats, which is a bummer. Definitely thought it wouldn’t work for us, but it seems we got lucky. Wish they made a spray for begging at the dinner table like a damn dog ;-)
Doesn't work on all cats.
Doesn't work on my cats at all. One of them even rubs her face on the sofa right where I sprayed the deterrent. Proceeds to scratch, and then curls up right next to the arm rest that's just been treated.
Test area first
Product works. But do test the area. base boards and door frames it will leave a buildup. Very hard to clean off once dried.
May Work - Smells Good!
One of my cats have decided to start clawing at the carpet on the steps of our new townhome that we rent. I can’t say for certain that this spray is working to stop her from scratching. I love reapplied the spray consistently but it hasn’t seemed to deter her. It may work for other kitties though. I will say that we like the scent. It is a bit strong but if you enjoy essential oils, you’d probably also like the scent. It makes our hole house smell fresh after it’s applied. The spray is more of a stream - I personally wish it was more of a mist. The stream makes it a bit more difficult to apply depending on the application site. It didn’t discolor our carpet, and it seems safe to use on different types of surfaces. I do recommend spot testing though. We will probably continue to use it in the hopes that it may eventually deter her scratching!
Good product, poor sprsyer
The product is mostly effective, BUT the spray bottle keeps getting stuck & the sprayer has to be pulled up manually before pressing down again. Messy & wasteful.
This product works!!!
I had no idea this product existed! It’s a must if you have cats that tear things up. It works!!!! Wish I had known about this before my cat destroyed some baseboards. Highly recommend!!!

Smells nice. Doesn’t help. Cats continue to scratch at the rug regardless of the spray.
WORKS ON MY OLD LADY CAT
My female cat is a rescue so I’m not sure of her exact age but she’s definitely an old lady who loves to destroy things like my furniture. I recently remodeled my house and purchased all new furniture and I was not about to let her destroy any of it. This stuff works miracles, even on an old lady like Fiona Louise! I spray it everywhere daily before I leave for work and I leave the bottle out where she can see it and she has yet to even get near any of my new furniture. It’s gotten to where I just show her the bottle and she scurries away. I do provide scratching posts and cat nip as a distraction which I’m sure helps but I do think this stuff is the main reason she’s no longer scratching on my furniture. It also seems to have stopped my male dogs from lifting a leg in my house as well. It is safe to use on furniture and high end floors. The fragrance is potent but that’s the point to this spray anyway. I highly recommend this stuff!

Wish I’d bought this years ago
We have a cat who always scratches on the wrong things. We moved and she started scratching on our brand new carpet and I was desperate to save it. Sprayed a bit of this spray on her favourite spot (the top steps) and lo and behold! She stopped scratching immediately. She didn’t try again for 2 whole weeks, and then I reapplied and she’s been avoiding them again. Works amazing especially considering she used to scratch there every 10 min before!Smells a little like tea tree oil and cloves so not a bad smell, and the smell dissipates quickly.Best $10 ever spent - telling all my friends who have cats about thisI also used this brand’s catnip spray on our cat’s new scratching post and she’s been m using it ever since instead of the steps, so I recommend using both sprays together for max effect

Did not deter 4 cats
Did not work at all for 4 cats. 1 cat started scratching the area the day after it was sprayed and all 4 cats have played and slept on the area within 24 hours of spraying. It may work for your cats as other reviews have indicated but the essential oils seem to only have attracted my cats to the area more.The spray stream comes out quite strong and doesn't have a wide and fine spray so when using on fabric/linens it can leave blotchy marks (we tried on a blanket). The smell wasn't too offensive to me as some other reviews have indicated but it definitely does leave an essential oil type smell so if you are sensitive to those types of smell you may not enjoy this product.
