I always used a percolator when I was younger, but decided to switch to a drip coffee maker when they were the new thing. For various reasons I ordered this on Monday, received it early morning on Tuesday and got busy. The intense smell of the brewing coffee was wonderful -- which wasn't the case with my drip pots. The coffee itself was rich and HOT, so good. I found that I can reduce the amount of ground coffee I'd been using to get rich coffee from the drip pot, so there's a bit of economy there. It also takes up much less space on my countertops. This is a great coffee maker and I don't think you'll be disappointed in it.UPDATE: I still like this percolator very much. There are two things I would call attention to: FIRST, The instructions say to take off the lid by pulling the top knob. I DO NOT do this. I have had experience in the past with other percolators and know that the knobs can be broken and hard to replace. For this reason, I always remove the lid by gently turning and lifting the entire lid by the sides. SECOND, I have seen comments from users that the percolator did not make coffee, even though it went through its cycle. You MUST make sure the tube is seated directly into the matching well inside the pot. I missed the correct seating on two occasions, and got no coffee for my efforts. When that happened, I simply poured out the hot water and refilled the pot with cold water to start over. If you are in doubt about the tube being seated correctly you can insert the tube first and then put the basket onto the tube before filling it with the ground coffee. I do this sometimes, just to make sure. I have not had problems with grounds in the finished coffee, but if that happened, a paper filter would likely take care of the problem.

Nothing compares to the Elite Gourmet EC812 Electric 12-Cup Coffee Percolator.First of all, the coffee this percolator makes is simply outstanding. It's smooth, rich, and has the perfect temperature to enjoy a leisurely cup at the table.I can't understand why some people complain about the temperature. The coffee is just right for me, and I prefer not to scald my taste buds with piping hot coffee. As for the noise, well, it's just the classic percolator sound that I remember from my childhood. It's nostalgic and adds to the charm of using this coffee maker.Of course, the taste of the coffee will depend on the amount of coffee you use and the roasted strength. It's important to find the right balance for your personal preference. I recommend experimenting with the measurements and using a bold brew for a fuller flavor. Additionally, using filters can help eliminate any residual taste or harshness.Now, let's talk about some recommendations. Don't rely on their "number of cups" measurement. I found that 6 only fills about 2 cups of my favorite mug. I suggest using your own mug, filling it as many times as you plan to drink, and then use the marked measurements accordingly. July 16, 2025I purchased this coffee maker January 5, 2025. It made good tasting hot coffee. Buy May It started leaking on the counter if the coffee was left in the pot for a couple of hours. I checked with Bolo and found I was past the return window and was directed to the manufacture, Elite Gourmet. It took me a while, but I finally found customer service on their website. I told them what was happening and sent in my request for a replacement or a refund in an email on June 25th. They sent me a reply email the next day saying, " please allow them to respond in 3 to 5 business days" to respond. Then I forgot about it until July 11th. I sent them another request. They responded saying that they had sent me a request for more information on June 26th, not true. The only response I got from them was the request for more time, then nothing until I emailed them again.They wanted proof of purchase and a picture of the label with date code. I sent them a picture of my order on Bolo and the label that same day. That was not enough they wanted a pdf of the invoice. I sent them that and another picture of the label with the date code. Then they requested a picture of the coffee maker with the cord cut and another picture of the label, and my address (which they already had). That was the last straw. I sent them what they asked for and told them how miserable their customer service was and that they made it feel like I was trying to scam them out of a $38 coffee maker. I told them the whole process was frustrating and insulting and that I would never buy another product from Elite Gourmet again. I said my review on Bolo would reflect my frustration, so here it is. Thank you.

This is an amazing coffee maker that performs very well delivering a god cup of coffee day after day Author has had this coffee maker for over a year without any problem whatsoever Highly recommended !!!!
Great coffee taste
Washed it and used it right away. Very simple to use, as quick as drip to make but the flavour is in every way superior to drip and that's what's important to me. I want a great cup of coffee. I'm very happy with this purchase, I feel I received value for the money I spent.
