Very close to the professional scaler used by dental hygienist. Seems to be all stainless steel. Be careful. It’s very sharp! I recommend this highly!

The scaler is all-metal construction and well-made. The website doesn't say whether it is stainless steel or not, but so far no rust or corrosion noted on pick from usage. The scaler/pick itself is very sharp and appears to be durable as compared to other scalers I have purchased in the past from drug stores where the handles are made of plastic with thin metal, that doesn't last. This is a seriously tool and care needs to be taken with its use. Rated 5-stars.

This Dental Hygienist Sickle Scaler looks exactly like the one my dental hygienist uses. It is a well-weighted and sharp scaler and works well to remove tarter from my teeth. I ordered this because, in my old age, I am having trouble getting all the tarter off my teeth with just my toothbrush. I am impressed with this scaler and the way my teeth feel and look after using it. I highly recommend this dental tool.

This is a heavy duty, solid made tool. Better than those that come in cheap sets. Looks and feels more like a professional scaler and love that it is super sharp. The headnis a little thicker than I'd like why the 4 star rating but would buy this again. It really cuts thru the plaque unlike cheaper made versions.
