5.0 out of 5 stars My Experience with the Sony Alpha 7 IV (So Far)

It feels like a solid step up in image quality and features, and everything about it just works smoothly. The camera operates quickly, and the menu system is easy to get the hang of, even for someone like me who's still learning. The viewfinder is excellent—bright, clear, and makes framing shots feel natural. I’ve also been really impressed with how easy it is to connect the camera to my phone. Transferring photos wirelessly has been a breeze. The only thing I’ve noticed is that JPEG files get slightly compressed when transferred to Android, which I’m still trying to find a workaround for. But otherwise, the whole setup process and app experience have been great.I started with the kit lens, which is actually pretty decent for general use. But if you’re serious about leveling up, getting a few additional lenses makes a big difference. Actually, i shouldn't have picked up kit lense option but there was not much price different so i decided to go with kit. I tried it with the Meike 85mm f/1.8 Pro, and it’s been performing really well—great image quality, and autofocus and manual focus both work nicely. I’m also thinking about picking up a 35mm soon for a more versatile setup.Build-wise, the A7 IV feels tough and well-made—exactly what you'd expect from Sony. It’s comfortable to hold and carry around, and I’ve had no issues with handling or durability so far.All in all, I’m really happy with the A7 IV. It's a camera that feels professional without being intimidating, and I can already tell it’s going to grow with me as I learn more and experiment with different styles of shooting.

The in-body image stabilization is effective, making handheld shooting smooth and reliable. The ergonomics and build quality are excellent — comfortable grip, intuitive controls, and weather-sealed body suitable for tough conditions. The fully articulating touchscreen adds versatility for vlogging and creative angles.Battery life is solid for a mirrorless, and the dual card slots offer peace of mind for professional work. Overall, the Sony Alpha 7 IV is a top-tier camera that balances performance, innovation, and usability perfectly.Highly recommended for anyone serious about photography and videography!
5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible camera for both photo and video!
The Sony A7 IV exceeded my expectations. The image quality is stunning, with sharp detail and beautiful color rendering. Autofocus is fast and accurate, even in low light. I love the improved grip and menu system compared to previous models. It’s a fantastic hybrid camera for professionals and serious enthusiasts. Totally worth the investment!
5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it!
What an upgrade. I had a Sony M7II for years. This was a bit expensive but well worth it. I love it!
5.0 out of 5 stars I’m in Love
I love this camera. We’re still on the honeymoon stage, but it hasn’t disappointed yet. The images are sharp and beautiful. You must set up the camera properly first to get all the benefits. YouTube videos are your friend. I’m about to shoot a feature doc using this as my B camera. Stay tuned.

(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } A bit of context. I own a Sony A7RV and needed a spare camera to do paid work (portraits, Passport Photos, venues etc.), and this one checked all the boxes for my needs. The 33mp is more than enough, but it also streamlines my workflow given there is less data in comparison to the 61mp A7RV.It does come with the two memory slots (albeit one being able to fit CF Express Type A, and the other for SD cards). Would of been nice to have both be CF Express dual slots, but I had got the Sony Tough UHS II card with no buffering issue (even on HI+ mode). The articulated screen in the back was the seller for me, as to not have it exposed to the elements when working outside and provide angles while shooting. The Auto Focus tracks great, providing a snappy lock on people and animals alike.Biggest take away is if you need to do some professional work within a reasonable cost, the A7IV fits that bill and you won't be disappointed.
Canon user buys into the Sony Camp
A disappointed Canon user I have now moved into the Sony Camp to take advantages of third party Lens, which were blocked by Canon. The Good thing with the Sony is, I can attach all my Canon EF & EF-S Glass to the Sony with "Viltrox Mount Adaptor" to Sony e mount. Most of the Canon Lenses worked just fine. The 50 f1.2 EF Lens, that one had to be manually focused in stills and in Video mode, exposure was fine.
