This thing was packed with features, but none of them really functioned that well. It is very slow to boot up and doesn't get very loud. I ended up returning it after a few days of frustration.

Got it on woot.com for $50. What a great buy. Does the apple carplay thing with wired connection, which I prefer, wireless always seems to drop out every so often. Plays cds and dvds. We are old, we still listen to cds. Especially when traveling x country and it’s a phone dead spot. I was able to keep my steering wheel controls with no adapter needed. Screen is good enough quality. I’d say for $50 it’s a win. Also ordered one for my fj.

I upgraded an obsolete Blaupunkt GPS head unit and this unit hasn't disappointed. It even plays dvds to boot. I returned to purchase another, but they had sold out at the sale price. Next time....

This thing is borderline junk. So I open the box and notice that the cage does not fit the unit correctly. Looking at it there is a bulge on top for the CD player but I guess they went ahead and sent it with the cage of a non-cd unit. This bulge causes it to not fit in the Stereo kit I bought on Bolo. So it looks weird after I had to dremel the opening of the kit and stick it in. With the bulge you can see inside the unit. I used the keys provided to pull the cage off. Guess what? Now the cage holders on the sides will not fit in right and it loosened every time I tried to move it to install. Had to bend them in to get it to work. Will it work. Yes. Does it look pretty? In my case no. But I bought two of them on a sale and going to have to make them for me. Putting in older trucks to give them a modern stereo. Good luck and have a dremel just in case.

Tried Apple Car Play with two different iphones, a iPhone 13 and 15. Both would not work on this unit and the nakamichi displays a usb device not recognized error. Support is non-existent.

Loudness button
The Nakamichi na6605 does have a dedicated loudness button. It's located in the EQ setting. Also the front USB is for data only and the rear USB is only for charging.
Old school combined tech
Very good I knew this brand back in the 90s and trusted it , to which today it’s not let me down . Smooth powerful stereo easy punches with the likes of alpine etc .. the only thing I can’t get working but actually don’t need is the remote ( plus you need a battery ) yet still don’t work .Also to note the apple play is only from the front of the unit via a lead the rear usb is only another charging feed. So your need a usb to power your phone , but it does also charge it .All in all for the price dvd is good and has loads of pre outs for undersea sub etc .I do love it and it replaced a Sony dvd bt68 this is nearly as good only for the apple car play or they are on par with each other .This looks sleek with no knobs sticking out .
Best value for in dash dvd
Bought this as the media center for a marine installation... With its numerous inputs and outputs, including video out, it cant be beat for the price. Sound quality is a big upgrade from the previous deck, Bluetooth works great from anywhere on the boat, an video is clear and crisp... 100% recommended.
Excellent bit of kit
Wanted to upgrade the infotainment system in our workhorse Honda CRV mk2. This head unit ticked all the boxes. The DVD player with video out feeds out headrest mounted screens and the apple carplay is brilliant. Good sound quality, crisp display and so far 100% reliable. Amazing at this price point. The only niggle is that the installation instructions are not clear. The unit also comes with language set to Japanese / Chinese so had a bit of fun trying to find the language menu! Very minor complaints though. Highly recommend this for anyone looking for a capable and robust 2 DIN head unit.
Hard to navigate
Not user friendly very difficult to do anything like saving stations, plus can’t press play for a dvd without the remote.
