ASROCK AMD RADEON RX 6600 CHALLENGER D DUAL FAN 8GB GDDR6 PCIE 4.0 GRAPHICS CARD
Reviews:
Good budget GPU.
Budget GPU option for 1080P gaming. More ideal for esports than anything else as of late 2025, but still holds up in story rich games for high settings in the graphics department. TDP is not too bad. Build and cooling of the card are both solid, simple GPU installation know how is enough to get this thing running. Works as it should and comes from a good brand.
I love it, do your own research. It is your fault if this GPU is a disappointment.
I went from an RX 570 8 GB to this GPU. At first, I wasn't overly shocked by the increase in performance. After two weeks of CS2 normal PC tasks and some tuning. The performance increase is really nice. Some other things I have noticed is that my office is like 5 degrees cooler since this GPU never gets hotter than 56 C. The noise is minimal, and it seems to balance my I7 9700k CPU very well. Maybe the GPU and CPU needed a little time to become friends but I could not be happier with this GPU. I will put my personal tunings below. I did very basic turning and it seemed to increase my 1% low FPS by about 20 frames and my highs around 30 just with this turning. I am not almost double performance from the RX 570 with less power draw and cooler temps. WIN WIN WIN WINI left the minimum GPU clock HZ at 700 Max I increased to 2700 for the MaxPower consumption to 20 or highest possibleMax MV from 1150 to 1100. This is what really seemed to smooth out gameplay and increase performance.Max memory clock 1820
Best budget card around
Silicon lottery shouldn't affect the rating, but it does.Card quality 4.5/5 - solid, soldered right, no defects, heat pipes feel like I'll accidentally crush them but the thin copper is probably necessary, this is my first real graphics card idkCooling - 5/5 meant to run HOT but still only gets to 80°C in 75°F weather at full overclocked load.Noise level - 4/5 default setting includes zero speed fan under 50-60C. Starts getting loud around 65%, n gets pretty loud at max but there isn't much of a difference in cooling between 80% and 100%Performance 5/5 - 2800mhz min, 2900mhz max, 1015 mvolts and 135w for any game I launch, no crash. I can play most games up to 2024 on high in 1440p, although I read it usually struggles to do so for others. No problem with anything 1080p.
Nice cars for my old PC from 2012....
It's a good video that will breath life into your old early gen Intel PC, or at least it did mine. I'm sure it'd be a fine video card for modern PC's lower the settings in newer mega GB video games. Idk, I just know World of Tanks screams using ultra settings on my old i7 3770 K.PassMark performance tear is give some dx11 error so I can give an accurate comparison between this card and my other nearly identical PC's running a GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 2060. They all play WoT excellent on HD graphics ultra settings, and really, that's ALL that matters.Bolo had an 'amazing' price on this card compared to old chicken.
Does what it needs to do and works just fine on Linux
Have had this GPU for about 2 months now and I can say I’ve had very little issues with it!Pros:-Works out of the box for Linux systems: This is likely to be expected as AMD is known for having little issues with Linux. The drivers were included in Linux Mint’s kernel, so I didn’t have to do anything.-Decently powerful: I had a gaming laptop with an rtx 3050 4GB before, so this was a MASSIVE upgrade for me. I can play ultra modded Skyrim and Fallout 4 very well and don’t run into vram issues anymore (provided I don’t use too heavy of an enb). Baldur’s Gate 3 also runs so much better than on the gaming laptop.-Stays very cool even under load: I don’t know how, but this GPU has stayed very cool even when doing the heavy gaming that I do. Assuming Linux’s psensor is accurate, it has stayed in the 40s and 50s when under load with the fans never spinning at those temps, which is amazing to me!-Quiet as the grave: I’ve barely heard the GPU at all, even when under load. I have to stop and actively listen in order to hear it. When gaming or not trying to listen, I don’t hear it at all. Though that’s true for all the components in my build.Cons:-Some Minecraft shaders don’t play nice: I’m unsure if it’s a Linux thing or the GPU, but some Minecraft shaders aren’t going to like this GPU very much. Specifically Solas shaders, as it crashes the GPU after an hour (requiring a full power off as the system becomes unresponsive after this point). Bliss is also a no-go as while it doesn’t crash the GPU, the screen will turn white with it on. Other shaders like Complimentary, Photon, Insanity, BSL, and others will work fine though. Just test different shaders out and see what works and what doesn’t.-A bit hard to install power cord: It was more difficult than I expected to plug in my PSU’s power cord for this GPU. I spent several minutes trying to install it as the cord was split. If one part went in, the other would be difficult to go in. I don’t know if I can fault the GPU for that though.Overall for the price you can get it at, this GPU is pretty powerful and should have no issues running stuff at 1080p depending on the game!
Great Budget Option
Slapped it on a corsair carbide air 240 and it fit just right even exceeding the 130 mm height limit by 2 mm i just cant put on the side panel because of the power connector and thats fine by me, runs great on all games pretty much that i've thrown at it medium to high graphics also ran msi kombustor to test cooling\temps and never exceeded 60c and the power efficiency is insane i did overclock and maxed out everything with afterburner and even then its nice and quiet... overall you could spend the extra money and get the rx7600 or 6950 xt for future proof but overall this is a great card as it is what my budget allowed for.
Really good budget GPU!
Really good, efficient, quiet and a GREAT budget option! Beats the 3060 in every title and pairs great with the ryzen 5 5500!Was kind of hard to install, since I'm a newbie in the PC building subject, and I haven't experienced any sag!
