And it’s all topped off with an elegant wood block that is slotted for every blade included in the set. Viking Cutlery is completely hygienic with no gaps between the blade and handle. The bolster and integrated tang deliver stability and balance while protecting the user’s hand from the blade. Dishwasher safe – but we always recommend handwashing to prolong the look of the blade and edge sharpness.

When one of my kids decided to use my Viking chef’s knife for what I can only assume was an amateur audition for "Forged in Fire," the blade got a roll, and my soul got a crack. But instead of replacing just one knife, I stumbled upon this glorious 17-piece Viking Cutlery set. Why stop at one when you can arm your kitchen like a culinary fortress?These knives are so sharp, I feel like a samurai every time I slice a tomato. The walnut block is sleek and looks so classy that I almost forgive my kids for their knife-abuse crimes. (Almost.) The assortment is perfect—whether you're slicing bread, filleting fish, or giving death stares to your kid while you dice onions.Now the kids are afraid to touch them (mission accomplished), and I have a backup for every cutting scenario imaginable. Five stars for quality, variety, and giving me the ultimate chef power trip!

I asked my son what item he wanted on the Wedding registry. He wanted these knives. He did a lot of research on the steel, as he always does, and he absolutely loves them. They were a sizable investment, but well worth the price.

The knives are nice but really disappointed in the scissors. They used a metal bolt and plastic nut-spacer to hold them together. After about a month, the plastic nut-spacer came apart.I’d look somewhere else for a knife set because I suspect overall quality is low but time will tell.

The knives came sharp, though the blades and handles were poorly finished. Many of the handles had rolled plastic left of the ends where they were ground flush with the tang. The finish is scratched and swirled. These scratches are superficial but unsightly on new knives. The assortment is useful though and well thought out. The wooden block is a rich walnut color but is not actual walnut. The knives are made in CHINA. For the price I expected better. We are thinking of returning for German made knives.
