When I was a small child I would often watch HBO, particularly movies that I probably shouldn't have been watching. One day when I was probably six I saw this movie and the scene where the house shoots people into a roller coaster named Mr Bone Stripper that does exactly what it says it's going to do and turns people into skeletons was a formative memory for me. I probably am who I am today because of this movie and I'm not mad about it. 10/10 Walking Patrick Nagel Paintings.

I'm one of the few people who think this movie was a brilliant, madcap, outrageous, comic masterpiece from the creative and wonderfully disturbed mind of Dan Aykroyd, with the help of his creative brother, Peter. It's gross, unsettling and so weird I'll have to watch it at least once a year. Li'l Debil (John Daveikis) and Bobo (Dan Aykroyd) are my favorite characters, after the brilliant, wildly madcap performance given by Dan Aykroyd as the Valkenvania Judge. The outrageous social commentary about a corrupt Pennsylvania cannot go unnoticed and is the real vehicle for this offbeat comedy.I can't stand Chevy Chase and I don't like Demi Moore but this is the best thing I've seen from either one of them. John Candy, in two roles as the speed trap cop and his huge, unmarried sister, is not very funny and the comedy legend is underused as a mere prop for Dan Aykroyd, who should have won an Oscar for best comic actor that year. And that's my opinion and nothing more. The sinister, horrific-looking sets are unreal and very impressive and the DVD plays great (but no subtitles for people like me who need to back things up and read what they actually said again). No big loss. My next Dan Aykroyd movie purchase will be a DVD of the movie "Neighbors", with John Belushi. If you like riotous, madcap, totally insane comedy, try "Nothing But Trouble". TIP: You may not want to eat while watching this movie.

Nothing but Creativity
A classic black comedy horror film worth watching. It is fun, disturbing - in a good way -, entertaining, and by the time you notice you are already deeply drawn into Valkenvania and its amazing worldbuilding.Thank you mr. @Dan Aykroyd, for this lovely gem! :D

Ob man Dan Aykroyds Regiedebüt nun als gelungen oder nicht beurteilt, vermag an dieser Stelle außer Acht zu bleiben. Die Bewertung meinerseits bezieht sich auf die erworbene RC-1 US DVD und diese ist leider eine nicht so spaßige Angelegenheit wie der Film: Es befindet sich einzig und allein der Film auf dieser DVD. Keine unterschiedlichen Audiospuren bzw. Sprachen, keine Untertitel und kein Bonusmaterial. Selbst das Menü trotzt einem mit einer unglaublichen Lieblosigkeit entgegen und verweigert selbst der Kapitelauswahl eine Vorschaufunktion.Wer den Film für wenig Geld sein Eigen nennen möchte, kann bedenkenlos zugreifen. Bild- und Tonqualität sind vergleichsweise gut. Wer allerdings gern wenigstens Untertitel für den englischen O-Ton, geschweige Bonusmaterial oder andere Sprachen wünscht sollte lieber auf die Suche nach der mittlerweile vergriffenen deutschen Version gehen.
