My mom and I would watch it during those PBS telethons whenever it aired. Oh how it brings back such sweet memories.Later in life, I purchased the trilogy so I could continually experience the joy that this, Lucy Maud Montgomery, masterpiece unfolds. It’s so dear to my heart.Even still, my love for the “original”, in no way, conflicts with my love for this series. Oh my goodness! I didn’t think I could love this story any more than I already do.Initially, I had a difficult time starting the series because of the contrast of darker shades of color and even the intensity of Anne’s experience. My sister encouraged me to continue, promising that it gets better and I’m so glad that I did.Not only did it get better but it’s become one of my favorite series ever. I understand why the creators chose to give these characters depth. We got to know them beyond the surface and on relatable level. The message is still the same yet with more layers.I obviously could go on forever but I’ll leave you with this. Don’t let the preferences of others keep you from enjoying a story that’s very seldom told in such a heart gripping way. I believe you’ll find it so much more than you would expect from our original beloved story.We are all unique but where it matters, we are more similar than not. Enjoy, dear ones!!

this was a gift to my sister whom I traveled with to Prince Edward Island this last May. I know it will bring her sweet memories of our travels as the country-side is awesome while the stories delight in goodness and gentle themes.

In 63 years of living, I have never loved any show as much! Including movies, stage and t.v. I've show it to friends, my son, my husband, and we all love it! Do yourself a favor and buy this! You will not be disappointed! It's the greatest show I've ever seen!

Despite the fact that it was abruptly canceled, and I will always mourn what could have been for this series, I am happy to own a physical copy. I canceled my Netflix subscription due to their constant canceling of really good shows, usually after 3 seasons, and a lack of good content for their increasing prices.If you enjoy the Anne of Green Gables series in general, or just love period pieces and feeling strong emotions, Anne With an E has my highest recommendation. It will always have a special place in my heart, and I will always come back to it to revisit the feelings it gives me.

Allen voran die wunderbare Amybeth McNulty als Anne, ich würde sagen, in der Rolle ihres Lebens - bravourös gespielt! Unglaublich beeindruckend! Aber auch Lucas Jade Zumann als Gilbert Blythe, Geraldine James als Marilla Cuthbert oder R.H. Thomson als Matthew Cuthbert sind genau so, wie man sie sich gewünscht hat. Die Serie mag zwar hier und da vom Buch abweichen, gibt der ganzen Geschichte aber einen eigenen Charakter. Die Serie ist insgesamt sehr emotional, so dass man sich hier und da eine Träne verdrücken muss. Den Optimismus von Anne wünscht man sich auch manches mal, herrlich wie sie in der düstersten und aussichtslosisten Situation noch positives sieht. Und doch ist es insgesamt traurig zu sehen, wie wir alle älter werden und aus unbeschwerten Kindern ernsthafte Erwachsene werden.... Wissen sollte man noch, dass man nach dem ausbleiben einer 4. Staffel, am Ende mit so machner Frage ungeklärt zurück bleibt.
