This is an absolute waste of money. Does not work as it should. Not matter how tight you make it vibrates loose. Not accurate not easy to use and definitely not durable. Impossible to make a circular cut

When I first opened the box of this tool I was a little wary based on the somewhat plasticky and inexpensive feel and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it to fit securely to my Dewalt cordless circular saw base plate. After assembly and a little fiddling I was able to confidently get it secured and I have since been using it to rip a small amount off of replacement doors in our home. With this tool and a new saw blade, it has done a pretty flawless job. Every cut has been smooth and even and pretty easy to keep straight. For a budget tool that I needed essentially just for these door installs, it has been pretty good.

I used this to rip 2x10’s down to a standard width for a deck that had a beam underneath, and the height of the joists was important to me. My only complaint is that the red part of the guide bar is not quickly reversible, to allow it to be on either the left or right side of the saw. Also, the instructions lead you to configure it for the right side, which limits your rips to about 8 inches, and places your saw away from the rip. I took the screws out of the red part and reversed it, to allow the guide bar to be on the left side, which increases the rip width to about 13 inches, and places the saw over the top of the rip, which is more stable for trimming 2x10’s. The pictures show my guide bar on the left.

Product description states "Universal base plate system works with almost any circular or jig saw:" I wanted to use this with my Bosch 7-1/4" circular saw, Milwaukee 5-1/4 12 volt circular saw and Bosch 12 volt jig saw. These are all newer and popular pieces still on the market. Product did not work with any of these three out of the box. All had the same issue. Tightened fairly securely to the front of the saw shoe, but could not fasten to the back securely enough to put the saw down without the saw base moving or completely dislodging. I have been happy with the other 10 or so Milescraft items I have previously purchased, but this one is being returned.

This guide proved to be sufficient for helping me cut straight cuts with my circular saw. Unlike more expensive systems, you must really take your time. Its a little flimsy but its easy to attach your saw and it does a good job keeping it locked in place. It's far more affordable than its primary competitor's brand and it still functions the same. Overall it's a decent alternative to using a table saw. All the long cuts you see in the pictures were made using this.
