I'll try to keep this short and to the pointPros: Affordable, Easy to Install, Zero Fan Hum, Easy pairing, seamless integration with Alexa and Google with full control of both the fan and light using voice plus an RF remote for the less tech savvy.Cons:. The dimmer box is big and barely cleared the top of the rotating part of my fan assembly but with some zip ties pulled tight I made it work but of course your millage will vary depending on your fan type.Detailed Summary.I have three identical fans in my home, last year I bought the much more expensive Lutron Fan controller so that I could be a slob and not have to get up to pull the chain. Installation of that was easy as it was just a switch change but it offered zero lighting control and my fan hums like crazy using it. Like you can feel it on the ceiling. So I only installed it on one of the fans.Fast forward and I changed out the lights on all three fans from one that used little dinky candalebra bulbs to a 4 light monster that used regular A19 bulbs and this made them so much brighter to the point I needed a dimmer when it was dark out. I was looking for a product that was Alexa capable and had fan and dimmer control and came across this product. It was easy to pair and install except getting it mounted in the housing. It's a decent size unit but if you work it you can zip to it in place. I love how I can dim the lights, turn them off and set the fan speed using the remote, the app or my voice and best part there is no need to have two lower leads going to the fan and their is ZERO fan hum.I'm going to order a third one of these modules and rule out the expensive Lutron one because this one is so much better because it doesn't hum.

We order this universal remote kit for a new outdoor ceiling fan we had installed on our patio becasue it is hot in Texas. The receiver was easy to install and worked as advertised. All the features works without issues and has a zero delay response, which we absolutely love since we often times just sit outside for 2 hours or so. The remote buttons are big and makes it easy to turn the fan and lights on/off, and supprts all 4 fan speeds: High/Medium/Low/OFF and 4 timers: 1/2/4/8 hours - all at the push of one button. We have not install the app yet, but we are looking forward to it since has additional capabilities like programming for 1 to 12 hours, and can be used at the same time: Remote control, APP, Voice - compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant allowing you to monitor and control your fan through your Smartphone using the SMART LIFE App. Plus the App is free and does not have any recurring fees or monthly costs. Winner!!

I bought 2 of these units and replaced the crappy version that came in the Harbour Breeze fans that don't support WiFi. The syncing process in the app is a little cumbersome but found that if you turn off for 10s (hit the light switch) then turn it back on, you should be able to find the device immedietly. The response time in the remote is super fast and the options it has make it well worth the upgrade if you're planning on using mostly the app.The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the same remote will control both devices and the unpairing process is not documented anywhere. Not really a dealer breaker since I'm mostly controlling everything with the app or google home but it's a bit on the annoying side that the remote doesn't use dip switches to seperate channels when it syncs to the fan.EDIT: After a bit of searching I found the instructions I needed to unpair a remote that would control 2 devices and pair a single remote to only control 1 device. These instructions are completely missing in the instructions so posting here for others to find.1)Clear the remote control that you don’t want to control first, and cancel the pairing of the remote controlWithin 5 seconds of powering on, press the "STOP" and "2H" keys at the same time, and then wait until the controller emits a long beep to complete the unpairing. (In my version, the controller/receiver doesn't beep and the light just flashed twice, after that I could no longer control the fan with my remote. Make sure the other fans are already off before doing this)2)Re-pairWithin 5 seconds of turning on, press the "LIGHT ON / 0FF" and "HI" keys at the same time until the controller is "immersed" briefly for 3 times, indicating that the pairing is successful. (Again in my version there was no sound and the light just flashed twice)

Super easy to set up I recommend you buy some double-sided adhesive to mount the Box either on the ceiling or on the metal can. Other than that this was a perfect way to be able to separate my fan and light without having to run another wire connecting the fan and light to the app and Alexa was simple and worked exactly as expected

These remotes are definitely worth the buy. They turned my regular ceiling fans into ones that I can operate easily with a remote control. Please note that even though they are a smaller size than some remotes, they can still be difficult to fit inside certain fans. We had to make adjustments in order to get it to fit in inside one of our fans. Other than that, I would certainly recommend them.

This remote fit one of my ceiling fans without a problem and the other did not fit as the fan did not have enough space in the box for the controller. but in the other fan fit and works like a dream.
