This is by far my favorite color and have purchased a few rolls. Everyone else loves the color also. The print quality with it is amazing and prints well at higher speeds. 300mm/s is the fastest I have printed with it and it printed great.

5.0 out of 5 stars I forgot how good it was...

    H.e. · November 11, 2022

About six or eight years ago, I began my foray into 3D printing with a new Flashforge Finder 3D printer. To keep the printer running clean, I stuck with Flashforge's filament for a short time, until curiosity of other brands and irritation at Flashforge's higher prices made me try other brands. I never bought another spool of Flashforge's filament and never really looked back.During summer Prime Day this year (2022), this filament went on sale. Flashforge had sent me a promotional email about this filament and two other new filaments, but I'd largely disregarded it. My curiosity, compounded by a friend's urging to buy a spool to try it (I was printing various parts for said friend's hobby at the time), made me buy a few spools of this.I've used most of one up, and I am impressed! Over the years, I've stuck with 3D Solutech as my brand of choice but have had good experience with others such as eSun, YOYI, and Hatchbox to name a few.I've got four 3D printers: A Flashforge Creator Pro, a JGAurora A5S, an Artillery Sidewinder X1, and a BIBO that's on its last legs. I've run this filament on the A5S, the Creator Pro, and the Sidewinder X1. The A5S has a 0.8 mm nozzle and the X1 has a 1.0 mm nozzle. The A5S has seen the most runtime of my current farm of printers so as expected, this filament ran fine. The filament also ran fine on the Creator Pro. Lately, I've been trying to print larger objects on the X1 at 0.100 mm layer heights. This requires frequent slicer profile tuning from spool to spool of filament. And that is where this filament thoroughly impressed me! I have not had to toy with slicer settings at all, and every single print I've ran with this filament on the X1 has turned out beautifully! The sparkly appearance of the filament further reduces the appearance of layer lines, too!I've been airbrushing a lot of my prints lately, but I am not going to paint any of the prints I've made with this filament; It just looks too good to cover up! But I digress.Normally, I try to specify certain settings in my reviews such as nozzle temp, print speed, etc. but that's the beauty of this filament, and the main nuance I'm highlighting in my story above:I have never had to dial this filament in!Just use general PLA settings in your slicer, and I bet you'll get excellent prints like I've been getting! And that's what brings me back to my review title: Back when I only bought Flashforge's filament, I never had issues, and I only ever used preset slicer settings. So, I guess this filament falls into the old saying "You get what you pay for."Yeah, it'll cost more, but this filament is pointedly more stable than any other brand I've used thus far, and that includes my main go-to brand! While I don't intend on only getting Flashforge's filament from here on out, I'll definitely be getting more of this filament for prints that will be tricky to pull off!

4.0 out of 5 stars "Rainbow" PLA doesn't match example dragon well

    B.V. · January 15, 2025

I'm a big fan of Flashforge PLA, its been easy to print and consistent. All gradient and mixed colors I've ordered so far have been beautiful except "Rainbow" PLA's actual color variation match the example print very well.In my opinion there are far too many orange layers which has lead to the majority of your print turning out variations brown or dark oranges with sparse sections of blues and greens and off-yellows.If you look close at the side of the spool in the background rather than the example print you'll see why it turns out that way. In my experience you're more likely to the example dragon as a variation of brown/orange.I'll rate the other Flashforge filaments I've tried highly, "Burnt Titanium" looks totally awesome on almost anything, but this one is a miss for me. The colors aren't bad, but most of my prints end up a variation of burnt orange or brown with other sections being too short. Still prints well though.

This is the best filament I have used so far! I ordered one spool and had not used it yet when I cancelled my subscription. I thought the cheaper filament would be fine. I now will only buy this kind because the prints are so good. This is now my go to. It has very little stringing and is very consistent. It came dry and ready no moisture.

    A very vivid, bright orange!

    M.V. · June 1, 2021

I decided to see what Flashforge PLA was like and needed a role of bright orange for a few things. I ordered a roll to see if it was worth keeping in mind for future needs. The roll arrived sealed, boxed, and well spooled. No Ziplock bag was included, but there was a pack of desiccant. The filament was malleable after opening the vacuum-packed sealed bag indicating it had not absorbed any moisture during manufacturing or shipping. No print temperatures were on the spool, and I couldn’t find any on their website either. The default temps from Cura did seem to work well, and it allowed me to lower my build plate temperature to 55C without adhesion issues when using hairspray. The filament is mildly translucent, and you can see the infill under typical light conditions with a .1mm wall. If that’s an issue for your output, consider raising that to reduce the translucency.I set a few Cura variables to adapt to the attitude the filament had.1. Printing temperature: 200C2. Print Bed Temperature: 55C3. Initial temperature: 220C4. Initial Bed Temperature: 65CI used Fructis hairspray to aid adhesion, as I do with most PLA.Print speeds used were:1. Speed: 80mm/s2. Wall speed: 40mm/s3. Initial layer speed: 15mm/s4. Skirt/Brim Speed: 15mm/sAdhesion was excellent under these conditions, and interlayer bonding was great as well. The Colour is extraordinarily rich as seen in the sample photos I’m attaching to this review.I may be doing a few safety signs with this as the colour is right for that sort of use. It’s also right if you’re printing orange, and you need to hold your orange headphones. :DGlad I tried it… will likely order more in the future.
