So, I bought Ladybirds the day it released and for some reason, just haven't gotten around to reading it until now. I could kick myself for waiting for so long! If you haven't read this one yet, you're seriously missing out! It's officially one of the best books I've read this year!Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite tropes, but it can be super hard to do. Often times the relationships are toxic and ick. But not between Sara and Seth. Seth was never a villain, although he definitely saw himself as such. He was just a young man who made a selfish mistake, pissed off the wrong grandma, and suffered CENTURIES for it. But I loved watching as Sara began to thaw towards him. His curse and her accidental acceptance of his offer bonded them and it was so fun to see how they adjusted to each other's presence. FORCED PROXIMITY FOR THE WIN!While Sara was a cool character, Seth was the reason I devoured this book as fast as I did. He is the sweetest and I found his sarcastic remarks so amusing. My favorite scene was when they were in the club for Jen's bachelorette party and he was saying all sorts of Millennial comments. I seriously cracked up!This book has a fantastic plot, lovable characters you root for every step of the way, and the writing is absolutely beautiful. Like, for real. Raeta's writing is superb. What's not to love?! 5 stars!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5I really enjoyed Ladybirds. This was such a cozy romantasy with paranormal romance vibes. There is little dab or smidge of spice. Not much.I think Ladybirds is perfect for fall/spooky season.This book is about FMC Sara makes a deal with MMC Seth whom happens to be a ghost.The deal: In exchange for her soul Sara’s boyfriend whom was in an accident life is spared. But there is always a price for deal like that.Sara’s boyfriend (David) awakens not knowing who she. He also seems a bit different, a little angry and bitter.Due to the fact that David has no recollection of Sara, she is forced to move on alone. But is she really alone! Nope!Enter witty and the comedic ghost Seth. Seth basically haunts Sara. He is always there and never leaves. The banter between Sara and Seth is hilarious. I love that he has knowledge on everything and his taste in tv shows. Ladybirds give off modern Pride and Prejudice meets adult Casper.👻romantasy👻paranormal romance👻slow burn👻witty banter👻age gap?😂 🤷🏻♀️👻👻HEA

I must say that I don't think I took a breath during the first quarter of the book. I was immediately hooked from the first few pages, and I think the writing here is some of the strongest I've ever read. I can see how the author has upped their game since their debut novel, "Everlong," which is an achievement considering it was one of the best I read in 2021. I'm not a habitual reader of the PNR (paranormal romance) sub-genre, however after reading this one, I feel I could become one.Sara, our protagonist, is about to have her life turned upside down by Seth. I don't want to reveal too many spoilers here, but let's just say that I think Seth is one of the most interesting characters I've discovered in quite a long time. Seth is going to amuse you, charm you, perhaps infuriate you, and maybe even scare you a little. Seth is so expertly written--within a logical set of paranormal parameters--that he's an absolute delight to be around. The author's real skill is in their dialog in this story. Heartfelt, real, raw, and emotional. Everything you could possibly want is here. The story just flies off the page, and believe me, as an author myself, I am taking notes! Really, you should stop reading my review, and go read R. Raeta's "Ladybirds." Trust me!The author has produced an instant classic and I cannot wait to continue to see what they come up with next! Bravo, R. Raeta!!

This book is beautiful! I picked it up just on the cover alone, not knowing anything about it. I was sucked into it from the very first page. I didn’t want the story to end. The author wrote such beautiful characters that became very real to me and I know I won’t forget them. The book is a slow burn, but so much banter that I found myself laughing out loud. I found myself hearing Seth’s accent in my head.If you want a book with a ghost, diverse characters, fade to black, then I would highly recommend this book to you! It’s one of my favorites now and I will read it again in the future! The author did such an incredible job tackling some tough topics in the story as well as making me fall in love with the two main characters in the story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a sweet novel but at times felt two-dimensional. I would recommend as an easy read that doesn't engage any complex feelings.

A wonderfully fun and lovable storyOur main heroine is relatable right from the start, I could feel the burden of her choices, even the not so great ones she has to make. Life is never so easy and I could feel every step of her journey, tears, laughter and pain. A joy to read Sara and those close to her.Our gentleman ghost, while snarky and full of attitude, soon wins the heart of the reader, (and our heroine) when we find that its more of a mask than the real him. Despite the "villain" status that Seth wears, I found myself cheering him on, hoping for a happy ending for him.The lovely author did not disappoint.

This was so stinking adorable, wholesome and enchanting and by the end I was left feeling satisfied with a full, happy heart. The pacing was perfect with just the right amount of slow-burn and tension.It was truly so lovely and my only real gripe is not being able to read it for the first time again.That being said I could NOT put this down. Ladybirds needs more exposure ASAP it’s too wonderful not to share with more people.

This book was just beautiful!The writing was superb and flowed with ease. It kept my attention throughout and I adored the characters—a real rollercoaster of emotions.An enemies-to-lovers without any of the toxicity.I loved Sara and her friends, Jen and Miles, but it was Seth who I adored most. His humour and his sweet nature, despite believing himself to be the villain."As if everything you do doesn't tear me apart."One of my favourite lines and favourite scenes in the book!Overall, this book was a real treat to read. Great plot. Loveable and real characters. And wonderfully written.

La storia parla di Sara che in poco tempo si ritrova ad affrontarne tante e si becca pure un fantasma, Seth. Io non ho trovato tutte le risate citate in altri commenti (almeno non fino alla metà della storia), piuttosto tanta commozione per questa ragazza che deve affrontate alcuni eventi tristi da sola o quasi. La scrittrice ha saputo rendere i protagonisti molto bene, il senso di solitudine, la fragilità, tanto che ci si affeziona a loro. La relazione con Seth è enemy to lovers che passa però prima per l'amicizia tra i due, costruita piano piano e potrei dire in modo delicato. Sinceramente non riuscivo a staccarmi dal libro perché volevo vedere come si sarebbe evoluta la storia sperando in un lieto fine. Lo consiglio.

I just finished reading my first R. Raeta story and I'm incredibly charmed by Sara, Seth, Jen and Miles. I already miss them.

Slow burn, romantic, heart wrenching and wonderful.I loved this book (as I love everything R.Raeta does). She truly has a way with words that genuinely makes you feel. I wish I could read everything she writes again for the first time!

A sweet, amazing and delightful tale from this author. I loved the characters, and the depth of feeling that goes into each one. The story flows and I loved all of it.... even the bits that made me cry a little. 5 stars 🌟.
