I love these sweet potatoes. I buy them for their light weight and shelf life to take back packing. I have several pounds vacuum sealed with oxygen absorbers in my long term food storage cache. The problem is that I keep eating them at home and have to buy more. I recommend them to others and will buy more.Just add a little salt, boil them with equal parts water for 5 or 10 minutes, and they are ready. You can let them sit a little while, if you want them a little softer. I like to mash them and add butter.

I like to add sweet potatoes to my Chocolate Lab’s homemade dog food. Having the sweet potatoes freeze dried is wonderful to have the ingredient on hand and always ready to go! It just takes an hour or so to reconstitute them. The flavor is very good, too.

Since there are no instructions for rehydration on the bag.... I boiled 3 cups straight from the bag for about 20 mins & got the results in the picture. Most of the pieces were soft enough to mash with a spoon. Some pieces were still too tough. I think with a little more water & heat and a food processor, they could easily be mashed. These are for my dog so I'm not sweatin it. Will soak some overnight & see how that goes.Seems to me that 1 cup of these pieces = 2 cups prepared potatoes. I ended up with about 6 cups worth after boiling.Not the most economical but easy to order & store.
