Overall this has become one of the most versatile tools we use. And its used to cut everything -> bought it for tile, but now its more things like metal locks, window casings, large cast sewer pipes, random grinding, siding, and even down to trimming parts off my old foxbody. Its freaking awesome... until last month when the trigger sporadically works. You have to continually push the trigger and it comes to life for a fraction of a second with the wheel turning about an 1/8th of a turn. After pushing the trigger and moving the wheel a tiny bit about 100 or so times, it suddenly starts working. Repeat daily... its annoying as hell. Its not abused, prob dropped from 2 feet or less a few times in its life, and kept as clean as possible. I took it apart and cleaned it and it worked for about a week, now back to the same trigger issue.Such a good tool it deserves 5 stars. It gets so annoying it deserves 1 star. So 4 stars it is cause when it works, its just AWESOME.

This is what a cutoff tool should be. The blade angle is much more comfortable than the pneumatic tool I had before. The easily removable guard is a great feature when cutting drywall, but should not be used with cutting metals. DeWALT does it again! I have replaced most of my tools with DeWALT 20v XL now.

I vacillated between this cut off tool and a traditional cordless angle grinder. After thinking back over my prior projects I determined that a cut off tool was more practical for small cutting jobs. I have an air cut off tool but it consumes compressed air quickly and bogs down. I use a 5 ah battery on this tool because it will drain lower capacity batteries quickly. I use it to cut rebar in half and cut off seized bolts, protruding nails and screws, etc. It's very powerful and has a consistent speed while cutting. Easy cutting disc changes. It has an adjustable shoe with a clear plastic guard so you can start your cut in the same kerf. I don't use this tool daily, but one of two uses will convince you that it belongs in your arsenal. Very happy with another DeWalt purchase.

Use it more than I thought I would.
Compact and powerful. I use Dewalt tools and this tool is very useful. From cutting tile, tin, wood and chicken wire. Makes jobs so much easier. Does not take up much room in the tool box and with the variety of wheels you can get it cuts through most anything. Took me a while to finally buy it but I am very happy I did. Lots of YouTube videos showing you different ways to use this versatile tool.

Amazing little thing!
I am a diver and needed to cut many tiles both internal and external, and also for small wood pieces. I was deciding between the compact DeWalt saw and this cut off tool, in the end chose this, based on:1. Size - this thing is super compact and light, as a result, it is very easy to control with 1 hand.2. Saw blade - the DeWalt compact saw is also amazing, but for wood cutting mainly and the blades are limited.3. The power - don't be fooled by the size, this little thing throws a punch and cut through tough porcelain 3cm external tiles like butter. Paired with 5Ah battery, it gets the job done.However due to the size and design, one could argue an angled grinder might be more versatile as one cutting tool to rule them all. I don't disagree. But with my usage which focused on cutting straight line with ease, this I think will be better than an angled grinder.So, happy days. Cannot wait for my next project.
