I read most of the reviews here and across the 'net on this unit. Got 3 to cover a ~5000 Sqft house with 2 stories. I'm now seeing that this was probably overkill, as they are super powerful devices. I also have a Ubiquiti Cloud Gateway Max. This is the perfect setup for someone who is a bit knowledgeable about networks, especially VLANs and what it takes to run a high end network. You won't get much if anything out of this running without a full Ubiquiti network setup. Ubiquiti hit it out of the park for those with knowledge, selling home equipment to professionals to get their foot in the door for their business line of products. If I were not already deep into Meraki at my business, I jump on Ubiquiti in an instant. Super easy to setup, very powerful in terms of features and capabilities. I've got over 100 devices online with this setup and zero down time (other than my ISP which I now know is a bit more flakey than I had known before due to Ubiquiti's great reporting on network health.) I've setup 4 VLANs for various uses, and kept the IoT networks from seeing the other networks for perfect security in my house. If you don't know IoT in all it's greatness, is also a great avenue for hackers to get into your systems. Protect yourself folks. Go Ubiquiti.Biggest complaint I read about on reviews is the lack of documentation. Well, Ubiquiti is not for folks without much knowledge of networks. I've found a TON of documentation on the web, and in the Ubiquiti community forums. These folks will jump at the opportunity to assist. I did open a ticket with Ubiquiti support once, and they also were very helpful in educating me on some features I was not aware of. High regards to this, and the folks who are willing to help out.Also, I'll have to agree with a lot of reviewers out there that say this is the AP to get. Not the new WiFi 7 models, as WiFi 7 is still too new and you just won't get much out of it at this time. WiFi 6 handles a full gigabit internet connection that most folks get at best in their area without breaking a sweat. You just don't need much more.

Almost went for a U7 Pro, but picked this due to no need for an internal fan and a bit more live service hours to read reviews on. They're all right: this thing rocks! Use a good POE switch or injector, solid copper ethernet, and get it high up and as central to your actual living space as you can, and it's all good from there. I installed the network controller on my NAS just for the fun of labeling and tracking my devices' usage, but even completely standalone this was a very simple app-based setup that immediately picked up the load for my pretty densely packed 1200 sq ft home network. I don't have any other Ubiquiti stuff and don't think a single AP setup really necessitates it, but if I ever add more devices, I'm probably expanding my Unifi setup next.

This Wireless Access Point is very powerful and has great coverage. It also works in the latest 6 Ghz range as well. You now have to purchase a Power over Ethernet injector separately (the reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars) if you are not utilzing a PoE switch. Also, you will have to set up credentials to get into the WAP then set up another set of credentials to get into the WiFi. It might be a little tricky but with perseverance you should be able to figure it out. I reccomend you change the SSID for security purposes as 'wireless access point' is in the default SSID and this can be detected from outside of your house.

I have a Ubiquiti system that is about 5 years old. The speed and transmission range on my older access points was becoming a problem.After upgrading to this access point, the range, speed and stability are great.As usual, the system found the new access point, integrated it, updated it, and all is good.A great upgrade for the price.

Beim Aufbau meines Unifi Netzwerkes kamen ursprünglich zwei AC Pro, ein NanoHD und zwei AC Mesh im Außenbereich zum Einsatz. Diese Kombination funktionierte gut, auch wenn ich mit der Reichweite des NanoHD nicht ganz so zufrieden war. Mittlerweile habe ich beide AC Pros und den nanoHD gegen die 6 Pros ausgetauscht und das Upgrade nicht bereut. Der 6 Pro arbeitet nochmals besser als die AC Pro und beseitigt auch das Reichweitenproblem des nanoHD. Was ihn im Detail auszeichnet, dazu nun mehr:Die Vor-/Nachteile in der Zusammenfassung vorab:+ sehr gute Verarbeitung+ Universalhalterung im Lieferumfang+ gute Abdeckung+ ordentlicher Durchsatz mit einem Wifi 6 Endgerät+ Energieverbrauch nicht viel höher als bei den Vorgängern+ einfache Integration+ optisch gelungene Integration der Status LED+ abgedichtetes GehäuseO kann nur mit Unifi Controller konfiguriert und bedient werdenO keine RGB LEDs verbaut- blaue Betriebs-LED nicht dimmbar- kein PoE Injektor mehr im LieferumfangDer Unifi 6 Pro im Detail:---------------------------------Geliefert wird der Unifi 6 Pro in einem kompakten Karton, in dem sich neben dem eigentlichen WLAN AP eine Universal-Montagehalterung, eine Trockenbau-Halterung, eine Anleitung, eine Gummiabdichtung für das Anschlussterminal sowie etwas Montagematerial und ein Auslösestift befinden. Letzterer wird benötigt, um den AP wieder von der Halterung lösen zu können. Andernfalls verhindert eine Kunststoffnase im Inneren die Abnahme. Ein PoE Injektor, wie er bei der Vorgängergeneration noch mitgeliefert wurde, findet sich beim 6 Pro nicht mehr im Lieferumfang. Man benötigt also einen eigenen Injektor oder muss einen PoE Switch verwenden, um den AP mit Strom zu versorgen.Der U6 Pro wirkt genauso hochwertig, wie die anderen APs des Herstellers. Mit 460 Gramm ist der 6 Pro merklich schwerer als der AC Pro, was mit zum wertigen Eindruck beiträgt. Das Gehäuse aus matt-weißem Kunststoff hat eine angenehme Haptik und ist tadellos verarbeitet. Alle Gehäuseteile fügen sich passgenau aneinander und Verarbeitungsfehler sucht man vergebens. Die Größe des Gerätes entspricht der des AC Pro, sodass bei einem Upgrade die gleichen Halterungen verwendet werden können. Bei der Ablöse eines nanoHD geht das nicht.Wie bei allen Unifi APs ist auf der Oberseite das Herstellerlogo aufgedruckt. Darum befindet sich ein kreisförmiger Spalt, in dem die Status-LED des Geräts sitzt. Leider leuchtet diese nach wie vor nur zweifarbig (weiß bei Boot und Update, blau im Betrieb) und nicht in RGB Farben, was bei Early Access Variante des 6 Pro noch der Fall war. Die LED ist heller als beim AC Pro und beim nanoHD, was je nach Montageort störend sein kann. Sie lässt sich glücklicherweise in den Einstellungen aber gänzlich abschalten.Dadurch, dass Ubiquiti eine Universal-Montageplatte mitliefert, ist die Montage des APs schnell erledigt. Wer zuvor bereits AC Pros montiert hatte, kann den 6 Pro sogar direkt auf die bestehende Halterung schrauben. Nachdem die Montageplatte befestigt ist, muss der AP nur nach an das Netzwerkkabel angeschlossen und mit einer Drehbewegung auf der Montageplatte befestigt werden. Besonderheit ist, dass beim 6 Pro eine Gummiabdichtung für den Anschlussbereich mitliefert, der die Verwendung des APs auch im Außenbereich möglich macht. Allerdings sollte man den AP dennoch nicht der ständigen Bewitterung aussetzen, sondern nach Möglichkeit immer überdacht montieren, denn eine offizielle IP Kennzeichnung konnte ich nicht ausmachen.Zur Konfiguration des 6 Pro wird wie bei allen anderen Komponenten der Unifi Reihe auch ein Controller benötigt. Diesen kann man entweder als Windows Software, als Docker Container auf vielen gängigen NAS Systemen oder als unified Cloud Stick auf einer eigenständigen Hardware betreiben. Im Betrieb benötigt der AccessPoint den Controller dann nicht mehr, zumindest wenn man nicht auf die Leistungsdaten und Statistiken angewiesen ist. Die Provisionierung der Einstellungen über den Controller gelang ebenso problemlos wie bei meinen alten APs auch. All meine 6 Pros wurden direkt mit einem ersten Update versorgt, bevor sie gänzlich einsatzbereit waren. Das Update nahm keine 5 Minuten in Anspruch.Im Betrieb kann der 6 Pro mit einem hohen Durchsatz und einer ordentlichen Reichweite punkten. Bei maximaler Kanalbandbreite zeigte die Geschwindigkeitsmessung zwischen Endgerät und Dream Machine Pro einen Durchsatz von knapp 900 Mbit/s im Down und Upload. Das haben weder der NanoHD noch der AC Pro erreicht. Größter Vorteil ist aber, dass der 6 Pro eine deutlich bessere Abdeckung hat, als der NanoHD. Die Reichweite ist sogar etwas besser als beim AC Pro, bei mittlerer Leistungseinstellung. Ecken im Haus, an denen vorher der Empfang trotz mehrerer Access Points nicht sonderlich gut war, bieten mit den 6 Pros jetzt vollen Empfang. Insbesondere in diesem Punkt hat sich das Update vom (teureren) NanoHD gelohnt. Roaming zwischen den insgesamt drei APs funktioniert problemlos, auch wenn Fast Roaming nicht aktiviert ist. Geräte wechseln verzugslos den AP, wenn einer mit besserer Signalstärke in Reichweite kommt.Betriebstechnisch gibt es beim 6 Pro ebenfalls keine Probleme. Mein erster 6 Pro arbeitet jetzt seit mehr als einem Jahr zuverlässig ohne Aussetzer. Ein Neustart war bisher nicht erforderlich. Je nach Anzahl der Clients liegt der Stromverbrauch zwischen 5,5 und 7,5 Watt bei mittlerer Leistungseinstellung und aktivierter Betriebs-LED. Das sind Werte, die nicht viel über denen der Vorgänger-APs liegen. Der NanoHD lag bei ca. 6 Watt im Betrieb und beim AC Pro waren es ca. 5 Watt. Somit ist der 6 Pro nicht so viel energiehungriger.Fazit:--------Unterm Strich habe ich die Investition in die 6 Pro nicht bereut. Im Vergleich zum NanoHD ist die Reichweite deutlich besser und der Durchsatz liegt ebenfalls über dem der Vorgängergeneration. Die Verarbeitung ist wie von Ubiquiti nicht anders zu erwarten sehr gut und der 6 Pro macht im Betrieb keine Probleme. Selbst über Monate läuft er stabil durch. Einziger kleiner Kritikpunkt ist, dass die Betriebs-LED sehr hell leuchtet und in manchen Umgebungen stören kann – immerhin lässt sie sich abschalten. Leider muss man auch auf die RGB LED verzichten, die der 6 Pro mal in der Early Access Phase besaß. Außerdem sollte man bedenken, dass kein PoE Injektor mehr mitgeliefert wird. Wer keinen PoE Switch besitzt, muss diesen daher zusätzlich bestellen. Das sind aber ausgesprochen kleine Kritikpunkte, die nicht zum Abzug führen, weshalb ich dem 6 Pro bedenkenlos die Höchstwertung gebe. Ein empfehlenswerter AP für das Unifi Ökosystem, definitiv besser als der NanoHD.
