After calibration per the instruction sheet I took a reading of some 50/50 mix of dexcool I just bought. The label on the jug said protection from freezing down to -37 degrees Celcius and this refractometer reading was spot on.

Needed to check my honey moisture content and had another refractometer for brix / gravity... Didn't work. Bought this one for my bee stuff and it worked perfect right out of the box. 16% for my first batch of honey harvest, worked great.

Much easier to use than a hydrometer. It does not require but a few drops instead of a beaker full of your beer to measure and get a reading.

I’d give this five stars except in the unit I got it takes a very bright light to read. The first 15 or so readings I made with it I double checked against a hydrometer and both readings were always the same
