It was delicious! Granted, I have my own eggs and a homemade vanilla extract. (Basically good vanilla beans soaked in a good vodka for a year or so.) The flavor was amazing! First time using it and I'm impressed. I like that the paddle and other attachment are dishwasher safe. DO NOT put the bowl in the dishwasher. I actually read directions for once, and since the bowl comes sealed with liquid in it I imagine a dishwasher cycle would really screw it up. Highly recommend this thing for anyone that wants to give ice cream a shot. It was $99 when I bought it. Kind of on the cheaper side of KitchenAid attachments as far as I remember. It fits my regular KitchenAid, I don't have the fancy bowl-lift one.

A must have attachment for your kitchen aid. If you love ice cream. Stop buying and start making!! It’s so easy. You need to freeze the bowl 16 hours beforehand. So make sure you have freezer space for the bowl. But otherwise, everything I’ve made, has been great!

We love this bowl. I store it in the freezer for the next batch of ice cream. Get the silocon lid. You use whole milk, cream, vanilla, pinch of salt, set 18 minutes on 1, then freeze it. Put in crushed cookies in last 4 minutes for something different. It is so easy to use. My Kitchenaid languished till I got this. You CAN tell the difference between home made and store bought ice cream.

**UPDATE: I reached out directly to Kitchen Aid and they replaced the broken piece at no charge as a one time courtesy. They also reminded me that ingredients should only be added AFTER the bowl and attachments are in place (which I thought I did). I’m adding back a star to 4. The reason I’m still keeping one off is that it shouldn’t have broken in the first place. I’ve used it again after receiving the new piece and works great!The bowl itself works great to freeze the ice cream. However, the piece that connects the Kitchen Aid mixer to the mixer paddle is crap! I used it twice and broke. Now I either have a useless bowl and paddle or I have to order a replacement piece from Kitchen Aid-SO frustrating!! (And I LOVE my Kitchen Aid mixer and have never had issues with other attachments)

My granddaughter is a budding chef and wanted the ice cream attachment for the kitchenaid mixer. It works well, easy to attach, and ice cream is delicious. If you are expecting hard ice cream, this is not the machine for you. This makes a custard type ice cream. And, it is delicious.

Love this addition to my Kitchenaid mixer. I will never buy any ice cream again. I've made peach, strawberry, blueberry, lemon, (ice cream, sorbet and gelato), Baileys, and I'm just starting. Your limited to your imagination and the number of containers I have. It's so easy to use. I freeze the container for at least two days before I want to use it. I also put my ingredients together the night before and put it in the fridge. Once I'm ready to make the ice cream, I pull out the maker from the freezer and immediately use the fridge-cold mix. My ice cream takes a lot less time than the recipe says. I should have bought this a long time ago. The ice cream is so good: no preservatives, colouring of aritifical flavours. Pure and natural. This is a great addition and works very well. No I need to buy more ice cream containers (insulated from Bolo) so that can make more varieties. Summer is coming!
