Description:
Our SMA to N RF Antenna Adapter has 48 hours Salt Spray Environmental Test
The salt spray test is usually used in the underwater environment of the connector and is usually used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of the metal connector shell (such as verifying the corrosion protection effect of the nickel plating on the surface of the zinc alloy die casting), and confirm the exposure by checking the DWV and insulation resistance The performance of the latter part confirms that the housing seal is effective.SMA Antenna Adapter N-Type to SMA Coaxial Cable Connector Good for the weboost directional antenna to connect to Wilson cell phone booster, low-frequency use

I measured the insertion loss (at 100MHz) at less than 0.01dB. It comes with protection caps, and the connectors are well machined, and definitely within spec.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Connector
Super for connecting my HT to my antenna system and my SWR bridge. Can't ask for more.
4.0 out of 5 stars Male N are a little finicky to connect well. Return loss 30 dB
This is regarding the "upgraded" version in the listing.I liked the SMA to BNC adapters from this vendor more. These SMA to N have the same excellent machining as the SMA to BNC. The female N portion looks good. The male N portion is unusual. The sleeve that fits around the center pin is completely solid, not split into four sections as is normal. (At least in all the N males I have.) The sleeve is 0.316" outer diameter, while that on other N connectors is about 0.329" This sleeve is supposed to mate with a tapered bore in the female connector. According to MIL-STD-348, the minimum diameter of the bore is 0.316. What this means is the sleeve has to completely bottom out to make good contact, instead of pushing against the tapered bore (and deflecting due to the bending action of the four sections). If you get good contact, you get 30 dB return loss through at least 2 GHz. If you don't you will measure a peak of say 10 to 15 dB in the return loss around 2 GHz.I'm no expert (yet) on RF connectors, but this is puzzling.- - -I did a little more research on this. The Wikipedia article on N connectors shows a solid sleeve just like this one. Further down in the article it shows a cutaway with the four sections. A Mini-circuits adapter is also solid.I mated pairs of these adapters a few more times and they seem to break in. If I get the threads started well I can get 30 dB return loss most of the time. Maybe this has to do with the 12 vs. 18 GHz versions for N connectors.

makes using the nanova much easier
5.0 out of 5 stars For wifi booster
I used the adapters to use on preexisting wiring for a cell phone booster in my RV.
5.0 out of 5 stars Don’t hesitate
It does what it’s supposed to.
5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting observations
Well if you have reason to believe that an extra SMA or UHF connector stacked up here and there has little effect on your power and SWR readings. Think again! Regardless of what people may say or do in videos on u Tube. They are not telling you the accurate facts. Excess hardware like BNC pigtails and adapters. Each connector has a unique resistance. All which appear to skew and corrupt readings. My point here is to share my going to every length not to use a daisy chain of fittings because the right combination was not provided with my SWR meter. The before and after photos speak for them selves. While the first photo and readings are not way out of spec at this chosen test frequency. The power to SWR ratio trade places. The power goes down while the SWR goes down. So smaller numbers in power can’t be ignored. The drop in SWR’s translates to more of what we do have is actually going out in the transition. This equates to less noise and better reach. Also less stress on the radio and less emissions leaking at the points of use. Rather than the tip of the antenna.Less is more also a closer representation of how it will behave when the meter is not present.
