I’ve noticed that some people overload it or try to chop items that are too hard, which can lead to breakage. However, if you follow the clear instructions included in the box, you won’t run into any issues.The pull cord mechanism is smooth and efficient, but it’s important to pull firmly—not aggressively, as if starting a stubborn lawnmower! Once the food starts breaking down, you can continue pulling until you reach your desired consistency.Cleaning & MaintenanceCleaning is super easy. I recommend wiping the bottom of the lid with a damp cloth instead of rinsing it under running water to prevent moisture from getting inside. The rest of the chopper is simple to clean and dries quickly.Final ThoughtsEven though I originally bought this for preparing bird chop, I find myself using it for my own meal prep as well! This chopper is awesome! I make my dog's food and using this chopper makes the food small enough so he can eat it with knowing that the food will be digested easily. Just a few pulls of the string and the food is chopped up. It's perfect for chopping onions too, really anything. And it saves time for me in the kitchen. I like the way the base locks into the top so no food leaks out while chopping it. I highly recommend this!!

My FAVORITE tool /appliance in my kitchen. I love, love, love this chopper / blender. It works great and is very easy to use plus I can chop things us as small as I want. I don't like biting into celery but I love the flavor it adds and this is a must when I make dressing. I can pull the string maybe 18-20 times and I have tiny minced celery that is not mush. I love onions so maybe 8-10 pulls gives me just the right size onions to saute for whatever I'm cooking. It is very easy to clean and so much easier than dragging out the food processor. It is well built and easy to use. I've had one for about 5 years and it still is perfect. I bought this one as a back up just in case as I don't want to be without this little chopper. I've use it for blending eggs for omelets and even for a cake from a mix. The silicone ring on the bottom keeps it from sliding around and I've had no problem with the blades remaining sharp. I can get it out of the cabinet and have an entire onion chopped in maybe one minute. I bought 8 or 9 for Christmas one year and everyone love it!

Bought this on a recommendation from my sister. It has made chopping onions very easy and fast. Just be sure to cut onion into quarters before chopping. If your pieces are somewhat uneven in size, give it another pull or 2. Works great on boiled eggs as well. I haven't tried it on carrots, etc.

I got this for my father as a Christmas gift because he loves to cook so much, and he absolutely LOVES it. It saves him plenty of time and discomfort when cutting things and now he never has to worry about the juices getting in his eyes or cutting his hand. The food he puts into it is always cut very well - never too big or thick and never too small the point where it is like mush. The grip is nice, and it is pleasing to look at; overall, it is definitely a nice sturdy piece of kitchenware and a good buy.

I've been using this manual food chopper for about 8 months now, and I have mixed feelings about it. When I first got it, it worked really well - chopped onions, vegetables, and nuts quickly without needing electricity. The BPA-free material felt safe and the size was perfect for my kitchen.However, after regular use, I'm starting to see some quality issues. The string/thread that you pull to make it work has broken twice now. The first time I thought maybe I pulled too hard, but it happened again even with normal use. I had to replace the string myself which was annoying.More importantly, the chopper blades don't seem as sharp as they used to be. It takes a lot more pulls now to get the same chopping results, and sometimes vegetables don't chop evenly. What used to take 5-6 pulls now needs 15-20 pulls to get decent results.For the price, it's okay for occasional use, but if you plan to use it daily like I do, you might want to look for something more durable. It served its purpose for a while but doesn't hold up well over time.
I feel very annoyed.
