*UPDATE* I reached out to the manufacturer (MagMod) and they were very quick to respond and replaced my defective item. Great customer service and as mentioned in my initial review, the product works very well and produces a nice quality of light. I will definitely purchase from this brand in the future.*****This modifier is actually pretty good - it's a great value and produces a nice quality of modified light. However, I have only used it 2 times and one of the magnets has split (photos included). I've used this correctly with the MagMod Pro Speedring so I'm not sure what would have caused this issue. I already recycled the original packaging so not sure a return is possible and since the remaining magnets appear to provide a strong connection regardless of one missing, I will continue to use the softbox. I was looking forward to growing a MagMod collection of modifiers but may hold off until seeing how this continues to perform.

I've enjoyed the smaller 24" softbox, and wanted a bigger, portable one for location portraits. Unfortunately, the silver lining is very specular, and it tends to create a lot of shine on some subjects' faces. Otherwise, it's very convenientNote: Magmod allows you to post reviews on their site, but they are vetted first. But they only release the reviews that are positive, so my review was never released - which I thought was important for people to realise. All the other reviews are five stars, apart from one. When I posted a negative experience to Magmods Facebook group, they deleted it. Hence, I've offered my objective review here.So I will declare I love many Magmod products and have spent hundred if not thousands on them, but I'm not a fanboy. Magamod should allow feedback that is less than 100% positive

This box works well if you can get it to stay on mount. The magnets are not strong enough to keep the box on. if you try to move the unit or rise the height it falls off. Magmod needs to correct this problem asap.Do not buy this item until they fix this problem.
