The BEST most AFFORDABLE at-home matcha!💚
10/10 homemade matcha!!! I am so happy with this matcha. It is delicious and tastes very natural. I love that there are no added sugars in this so that you can add sugar or flavors to your liking.I love a very strong matcha so I typically mix 1.5 tsp with a little less than 2 oz of water. That is perfect for me! The matcha blends so well into the water with an electric frother. There is no excess powder when I add extra matcha powder into my drink.
Clear Difference Between Ceremonial and Culinary Quality
I bought these two matcha powders at the same time expecting similar quality, but they are very different and will fit different needs depending on how you like your matcha. The smaller tin has a much brighter green color, a finer texture, and tastes noticeably smoother. It whisks up creamy with no effort and has that nice natural sweetness you expect from higher-grade matcha. This is the one you want if you drink matcha straight, make lattes, or prefer a softer flavor without bitterness. The large tin, on the other hand, is more of an olive green and has a slightly coarser texture. The flavor is earthier and a little more bitter, which makes it better for baking or smoothies where you want matcha flavor but don’t need ceremonial-level quality. It’s a good value for the amount you get, just not as delicate or vibrant as the smaller tin.Overall, both are useful—just for different purposes. If you want a smoother daily latte or traditional matcha, pick the brighter one. If you want a budget-friendly big container for cooking or mixing, the larger tin works great.
First time trying Matcha
It sifts easily, its earthy and smooth, not very strong and it tastes great with coconut milk. I’m trying to lower coffee intake so I have this first thing in the morning but I still find myself tired by the afternoon so it’s not like Yerba Mate for me.
Good but does not last 30 servings, bizarre marketing on photo
Hey y'allThe quality and taste of this matcha is great. Hot or iced. Here is something for you to know. This product is sold at 1.06 oz (30g) and marketed at 30 servings per tin. When I googled 1.06 oz into tsp. The conversion came back as 6.36 tsp. Where as 30g is estimated as between 6 to 7.17 tsp. I know these can't always be super exact. Each tin of matcha is marketed as having "30 servings". At 1.06 oz that isn't accurate. The directions say 1/2 tsp to 1 tsp for each serving and even if you can do simple math that's about 6 to 12 days of drinks if you have one drink a day. I purchased mine on March 22nd and sometimes I would use a 1/2 tsp and sometimes 1 tsp. It's March 30th, and the tin is almost gone. A handle of days in there I had two servings a day. So realistically with one cup a day at 1/2 tsp serving, this may last 12 or 13 days maybe at its maximum length. Full disclosure if you're considering this product. The quality is pretty good, but it will not last you 30 days, or 30 servings.
But this!
Love this!!! I’m a Matcha lover through and through and this Matcha is my go to brand. It’s a great value for the cost, easy to blend and make great drinks! The company is pretty transparent for ingredients and how Matcha should be.
Excellent quality matcha
This stuff is dynamite like it’s delicious and if you want to make a cold latte, it works perfectly with a good Matcha tool kit and it’s so delicious taste just as good as my local coffee roasters shop so I definitely recommend this and give it 5+ stars because it goes wonderful with a protein shake and you can drink it hot or cold, and it blends effortlessly.
Meh
Maybe I am just spoiled by Naoki matcha but I got this as a substitute because Naoki wasn’t available and I really do not like it. I prepared my latte the way I always do and it had a horrible astringent undertaste last observed in the Costco matcha. I feel like they cut the ceremonial grade matcha with a little too much of the lower quality powder. The color seemed good and promising at first but I definitely feel like I got an inferior product for a higher price. This taste is not worth $45. I also don’t really like the packaging, the tin is cute but it’s not airtight and the packaging isn’t resealable so I feel forced to put the matcha in the fridge, which I don’t like doing because of the added moisture.
Overall Smooth and pleasant, especially for the price.
I bought this product on February 26th, so I'm sure the quality has slightly gone down and some slight oxidation has occured. The left is the Jade leaf and the right is a different ceremonial/first harvest matcha powder. I should preface I'm a beginner and new to matcha, so take that into consideration with my review. I have tried this sifting and without sifting and it's a pretty smooth matcha compared to others of lower quality or other cheaper ceremonial options. There is somewhat bitter/chalky/astringent taste, but not too much. I usually add sweetener though and that really helps. When I don't sift and just make the paste I don't experience much grainy texture, so if you're short on time it's a great option. When making the paste I'm able to get rid of most of the clumps. I'm still getting used to ratios, water temp, and refining my technique, which all those things could come into play. The flavor and smell are more on the subtle side. Overall I would suggest this matcha and think it's a good option for the price and could be a good everyday matcha on a budget.
