The one I had was a dual use maker; it could be used for single serve or for brewing a pot of coffee. It's need for replacement was due to my own negligence - long story. It too was a a Hamilton Beach product and had served me well.When I started investigating for a newer coffee maker, Hamilton Beach was my first choice to look at. I needed a smaller size that wouldn't take up too much space on the counter. I also wanted it to brew a delicious cup of mug of coffee. My search brought me to this slimmer single serve maker. What attracted me was that it would accommodate my single serve pods or I could use the included option of brewing a cup using ground coffee. This insert could also be used to brew fresh tea using ground tea leaves. This was perfect since I usually only drink one cup of coffee in the morning , but like to brew various teas for other occasions.My only problem was the amount it could brew each time. It cannot brew more than a 14 oz swing at a time. If you over fill the water reservoir, the water starts dribbling out before you can get your mug in place. I was more used to a 16 oz mug, so it took a few times to get my timing correct or having to get a new mug.

I like the single cup pot for my computer room. Coffee comes out just fine. Be sure to push coffee pod down well or pot will not work. The on switch is a bit odd as it comes on above circle, but it works. Coffee tastes fine.

I will never buy Hamilton Beach products ever again! This coffee maker did not even last a year!! I used it three times a day and made a full mug of coffee. Additional water was heated in the microwave and then poured into the mug after brewing to fill the mug. A little tweaking and measuring gave me the right amount of coffee grounds to make it this way.When it worked, the coffee was as expected. However, not even a years worth of service left a bad taste in my mouth.For people who drink coffee in mugs, this this not for mug drinkers without doing the math and using a microwave to heat the additional water needed to make a full mug.Reader beware, this coffee maker lasted 8 months!!! JUNK!

Not sure if this is new as it arrived with open and damaged packaging. The rod fell out when I first picked it up from my porch. The wrapping on the rod itself was open. I am keeping it although I'm not sure if I received a new one or not. It seems to work okay in my shower and seems sturdy enough and I like that it's not difficult to get it to fit correctly.

My mom is really enjoying this machine. We’ve probably gone through three Nespresso machines in the past, and all of them ended up breaking down. Dealing with Nespresso customer service was always frustrating, which made it even worse. That said, this machine has been a breath of fresh air. It’s simple, reliable, and does exactly what you need without the hassle. If you’re looking for something straightforward and easy to use, this is definitely a solid choice.

Anyways love the versatility she can use it to make ground coffee as well as the kcups. I recently got the Tim Hortons French Vanilla pods and it works great. We use boiled water that is refrigerated and it make it hot. Very quick and relatively quiet compared to the sounds of a boiling kettle that I am used too. Visiting family members also enjoyed using the machine, very simple to operate and clean. Hope the price is reflected in the longevity of the machine. I recently bought the cleaning pods, as I saw other reviews suggested using a cleaning pod once a month.

Update: April 2025 (2 months later)I reordered the product - it is the only single serve from Hamilton Beach and I really want to stick with the brand this one came in a plastic sealed box, which was taped, in a cardboard protect that was sealed, it was a total different coffee maker, I am now convinced the last one was not the correct one, I am so completely satisfied with the product so farI love Hamilton Beach, my previous coffee maker is still going strong (7 years and counting) I just wanted something with the single serve as I no longer need a pot attachment. This one is advertised as a 14oz compacity but it only fills up 12 - even the box it came in said 12 oz but the ad says 14oz so that was very disappointing, I had to return it and unfortunately give it a one star review for false advertisement.

Cette Cafetière est géniale et à très bon prix, parfaite pour moi. Elle contient 2 modes d'infusion ,j'aime beaucoup, elle est compatible avec les dosettes et le café moulu.Mais je donne une note de 4/5 car au début elle avait une drôle d'odeur dans l'emplacement où on met l'eau. Cela donnais aussi un drole de gout . Petit truc, J'ai mis un peu de vinaigre blanc, un bouchon et J'ai fait couler l'eau à plusieurs reprises. Part la suite , j'ai ajouté un peu d'essence de vanille pour éliminer le goût du vinaigre. Voilà

Better than instant coffee but still lacks extraction. However, I did not try using Kcup pods. The problem is with the coffee grounds basket. I would suggest for future models to simply scrap the coffee grounds basket and replace it with a reusable Kcup pod (preferably in stainless) that has pre-drilled enter and exit holes that woul fit in the Kcup basket. This will surely create good extraction without having to resort to polluting plastic Kcups.
So far, so good.
I've had this coffee maker for about three weeks, and so far it's working well. Really like that you pour in the exact amount of water needed to make each individual cup of coffee. Very fast. My only concern will be whether it keeps working well for the long haul. At this point I would recommend this coffee maker to others.
