12 inch seems the right size for most situations. We went back and forth between the 12 and 14 but these work well and fit easily in a drawer. Such a simple tool but really helpful for a number of dishes. Easy to clean.

I am hard pressed to literally rate these tongs given that I have not received them as yet. They were delivered, and on time, but I use a friend's mailing address given that due to the fact that I live on the 3rd floor of an apt building, far too often the driver is either too lazy to take the elevator, or when he/she makes a half attempt, leaves the item in the lobby, where the item/items, disappears, or are stolen. In this case my friend called to say the package arrived on time. She opened it and tried them out. According to her, they are fine and functional tongs...just as promised.

After using them a few times, realized this would make a great gift for anyone that enjoys cooking because of practicality of less space, hands aren't as close to the food as regular food tongs and would actually be a good item for travel/camping! They're much better quality than I expected too so know they'll be safe in the dishwasher or if my clumsy self accidentally dropped them!
