I appreciate the all stainless steel construction, especially since it’s rustproof and there’s no risk of chipping like enamel-coated hooks.I’ve used it for bread dough, pizza crust, and even some heavier pasta dough—this spiral hook handled it all without strain. Cleanup is effortless: dishwasher safe and easy to rinse if you’re hand washing.If you’re replacing a worn-out dough hook or want to avoid the chipping issues of coated versions, this is an excellent upgrade. I’ve had to reduce some of the kneading times to avoid developing too much gluten—usually about half the time specified in the recipe. I think I can live with that.Any serious baker or cook with a KA mixer would appreciate this upgrade. If you’re buy a mixer for a newly wed couple, a Mother’s Day, Christmas or birthday gift, do the recipient a favor and gift this (and the paddle), too. If you’re spending $300+, what’s another $30–$60 for a hook and paddle?

Great accessory for a Kitchenaid. The helix shape mixes dough so much better than the standard hook. Plus no chipped enamel in the dough. Fit and finish are very good. Doesn't disappoint.
