My last pair was purchased at a retail store in 2007 (yes 18 years ago) I wore them 4 days a week for years, they looked as good and were as comfortable as the day I bought them. The leather quality, durability and and attention to detail are superb, they never fell apart or needed repaired. The only signs of wear were on the toe cap (from normal wear and tear) and heel (me being lazy and stepping on the back of the shoe to take it off).I had no reason to buy another pair, that was until my new puppy decided It was time to retire them, and chewed the upper a few months ago, even then I still wore them. After a lot of research I liked the look of the Helsinki. ECCOs fit true to size. I bought the same size but they have been snug but I figured it was because my old ones were worn in over the years. However, they have not loosened up in almost 2 months and the top of my foot has been sore from how tight they are. Hoping they break in, I still wear them a few days a week.This very morning I went to put them on and saw the insole says “Dual fit insole”. Curious I took the insole out to find ANOTHER insole that says “remove for wider fit! I immediately pulled it out and slipped it on and it was instant! These are the shoes I remember! So if they are snug, take out the second insole. I’m sure I’ll have these for another 18 years, provided I keep them put away for any four legged friend!

Unfortunately my local shoe store that sold this brand went out of business after I bought this same shoe over the last 10 years. I have always bought the same 43 size Ecco slip on shoe and it would last about 7 or 8 months. So I came on here and found it for a good price. It only lasted me about 3-4 months which was unfortunate. I re ordered the same exact shoe size and its extremely tight around my feet and hurting. I put my old pair side by side and both are 43 in size but the new one is way too tight. Not sure why there is no consistency or why the same shoes fit so differently and don't last nearly as long as my local shoe store did.
