It does come with ink, but I recommend buying some quick dry ink instead. The cap has good tension and does not fall off, at the same time it is easy to remove without too much effort. The clip felt a little too firm at first and was hard to clip onto my shirt pocket, but after a few weeks it has loosened to a good tension. The knurled grip prevents slipping but is not too aggressive where it hurts your fingers. It's weight is balanced well. It feels like alot of thought has been put in every little detail. Overall this has been my favorite pen I've ever owned in my life.

They were incredibly responsive and thorough, quickly arranging for a replacement. The new pen arrived promptly, and this time, it was perfect. The extra fine nib wrote exactly as it should—finer than even my Pilot pens—and has since become my go-to everyday carry (EDC) pen.Beyond its performance, the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome is a stunningly designed pen. It feels solid and well-balanced in hand. The chrome and gold finish exudes a refined elegance. I love love love the finial design. One of the standout features is the converter—it’s the best I’ve used, providing a smooth and reliable ink flow. Additionally, there’s a beautiful and satisfying sound and feel when you cap the pen. It’s a small but joyful detail that enhances the experience of using this exquisite pen. I'm impressed by the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this pen.Perhaps one of the most impressive moments came after I had to set the pen aside for a few days due to illness. When I picked it up again, it wrote immediately, as if I had just used it seconds ago—something many fountain pens struggle with.Despite the rocky start, this pen has won me over completely. The combination of exquisite design, top-tier performance, and Scriveiner’s exceptional customer service makes it a worthy addition to any collection. My first Scriveiner pen was a medium nibbed pen, and it worked beautifully, until one day...it slipped from my hand and fell straight down onto the nib; the pen had suffered catastrophic damage.So, I did the only correct thing there is to do: I purchased a replacement Scriveiner pen.This time, I decided to go with a fine-point nib.The pen was working well for about a month, but I noticed the writing wasn't totally smooth. So I reached out to Scriveiner and shared with them my story.Jul on the Scriveiner team was very understanding, and after providing them a video and my order #, they immediately shipped me a new pen. I got it the next day, which is insane, but that's what they did for me.The new pen writes perfectly and I'm very happy with how they helped me out. My feeling is this is a rare issue, because the pens are very high quality, and I wrote with my first pen for a long time before I dropped it and I never had any issues. The new pen is also writing flawlessly.Thanks Scriveiner for helping me out, I'll be buying pens from you in the future; hopefully the catalyst isn't me dropping this one though :D

I am a regular user of fountain pens and have experience with several reputed fountain pen brands. I initially bought this pen with not so high expectation but now it has become a part of my daily use. The thing I like about this pen is that it is not too wet (I use the fine nib) and yet have ease of writing. It is a great pen for the value. I even went on to buy a second one.I also appreciate their customer service. The complimentary cartridges were missing in the second order and they were very prompt to send me a box of cartridges after I informed them.

This pen is just awesome! It’s a very smooth and holds ink very well. I did have an issue with a tiny dent in the side of the pen that was hardly noticeable but it still bothered me so I reached out to the company directly from their website. It was some of the best customer support I’ve ever received! They were very friendly and handle the issue quickly by sending me a new pen! Wonderful company, wonderful people and wonderful products!

Writes like a dream; better than a lot of named brand pens at their lower end price points. Must say customer service is excellent. The first one I received had defects in workmanship. But Catherine was super helpful, and sent me a replacement which is excellent. I would recommend this brand.

One of the best fountain pens I have ever used. After years it runs and writes like a high end pen. Punches way above its price point and puts Brands like Visconti to shame. Get this pen and see how your writing experience changes. Absolutely stunning pen. Never had one dry spot of false start. Always the workhorse with the polished sophisticated look.

I bought the silver version and it is elegant and smooth to write with. I am very happy with the purchase and plan to buy the fountain pen in black and gold.I recommend it. I am using it with the black ink from Waterman.

Sheer Luxury at an Affordable Price Point

In truth, I haven't used pen and ink since being forced too when at school. (Yes I'm that old!). The desks having a hole in them so as the ink well could sit in there and you dipped the nib of the woooden stemmed pen into the ink and practice joined up writing. Invariably it would scratch the paper and often tear into it. Not a happy childhood memory.However, a few years ago I was asked to sign an important document and the person produced a fountain pen and the sheer joy of signing my name with this pen was tangible.In recent years I have been asked to sign a number of documents and whenever I do I recall being offered that fountain pen, and I knew it was time to lay the ghosts of childhood to rest and purchase a fountain pen of my own.So I researched which pen would best suit me and, based upon the postive reviews, the Scriviener fountain pen seemed to stand out.Having purchased this pen, I have not been disappointed. It is beautiful to look at and the weight of it is perfect. The ink flow to the nib is consistent and the fluidity of the nib on the paper makes for a smooth and easy writing action. Simply signing my name seems to add a creative flourish to ordinary writing tasks.The quality, elegance and design of the pen belies its price point. It is sheer luxury at an affordable price.It is so perefct that it encourages me to write more as opposed to typing everything on a keyboard or on a mobile phone screen.The pen adds a touch of elegance and is wonderfully beautiful.An extremely happy customer.
