5.0 out of 5 stars Best SCANTOOL on the market
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } One of the best scan tools out there. Have had my scantool for almost a year now and love it. Have used snapon and Autel in the past but absolutely levels to TopDon, have had no issues so far. Use this a lot for electronic parking brake maintenance mode / brake replacements, use this a lot of different chassis calibration. Was even to program keys on a 04/07 Honda Civic and Odyssey. Was able to custom/ personalize settings in my lexus like windows going down with the unlock button. Reads all modules. Topography is a game changer for network / module communication issues. Has most catalog PIDs you need and then some. Output control is great to use as well. Definitely have made my money back from purchasing this scantool. Can't see my self using any other scantool in the future. Going to upgrade to the best TOPDON scantool in the future
5.0 out of 5 stars Great obd scanner for a good price
It's a great OBD scanner and I love it! Much better prices than others. I have used it to gain an insight into my car issues and has helped a lot!
5.0 out of 5 stars From a pro if your on the fence just do it
I am a professional mechanic and use this tool daily and could not be more happy with it,it’s fast the data is accurate, just the perfect size and extremely capable not to mention insane battery life,I would recommend this tool to any pro or a diy.I have used a huge array of scan tools over the years from top of the line snap on and Matco tools to launch and autel ultra and I would still grab this one over the others
5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME
ABSOLUTELY GREAT SCANNER AND DIAG TOOL!Professional auto mechanic
4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful, but a few functions missing
One of the biggest things I needed are blend door calibration on jeeps, I can't do. But still a lot of good functions. Battery life is good. Came with a bunch of obd1 connectors but can't actually use them.
5.0 out of 5 stars for the upcoming young mechanics
works as intended, fast UI, fast Scanning, very easy to navigate, organized well, a good upgrade for a young mechanic that plans to stay a mechanic, overkill for none mechanic. great product for the price.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and Helped Put Brakes into Maintenance Mode on Subaru
The scanner seems to be fast and I was able to put the brakes system in to maintenance mode on my Subaru. The system seems to be responsive. I do not know how this compares to similar scan tools. I did try to get a different brand a few years again. That one came in with the unit used and already registered to another user. I ended up returning that. Everything was good on this unit. The one thing that I am concerned about is subscription related. When the 2 years of updates is up, the policy is a little vague saying "functions may be limited ,.......... and programming functions may be inaccessible". Hopefully, the ability to use features like putting the car into brake maintenance mode is still available or I will be upset. Also, a one year subscription is half the price of the scan tool. At that price, one might as well by a new scan tool with 2 years of free updates every two years and sell your old scan tool; one would come out ahead. It would just make more sense to update if the subscription was a little less. Just a wish --I knew that before ordering.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, for what it is.
First, study up on scan tools. Know what they are, and what they are not. This was bought on Bolo, I immediately registered my unit with AutoAuth, which Bolo Autels won't do. So that was a relief. So setup was fairly fast and simple. If you're working on any 2017+ Fiat/Chrysler stuff, buy an Autel from a real dealer (not Walmart or Bolo, I suggest aeswave) or buy a Topdon (again, I bought my unit on here, after talking to topdon about the whole AutoAuth thing with autel.) I got this unit for $962(real short sale, like a 24hr offer)I wish they would update to a newer version of Android, and allow Play Store. But for Android 10, it's plenty fast enough.I chose this over the Phoenix 2 mainly for it's screen size, ram and processor, essentially the only differences. The Phoenix 2 isn't explicitly listed on AutoAuths site either, but they have an "others" sub catagory in the models. So maybe it can be registered, I don't know 100%. Sellers will tell you whatever you need to hear to sell units, so I'm trying to offer my knowledge on this...I'd choose the Plus vs the Phoenix 2 again, as the screen alone is needed if you look at much in the wiring diagrams online. This is NOT designed to do module programming on USA models, there is no passthrough vci. It's a VERY capable and very quality built device, but it's not the "one device does everything" solution. For most of us, it's plenty. Passthrough vci alone is like $1500, and requires subscription to dealer services for software, and a bunch more stuff. This is NOT the tool for programming USA models. Again, research will help you understand this...Research research research. Briank100 on YouTube does reviews, actually good comprehensive ones for an old duffer, he does a bunch of different ones.I avoided Launch, due to not knowing what special functions were free and ones you had to pay for... Autel has no USA warranty or supported by AutoAuth unless you buy from a USA dealer. Xtool makes nice units, but again, no AutoAuth, requires a bypass cable for FCA. Same with Foxwell (I own a bt809ts). Foxwells are ok, built nice, old Android firmware though. The ads say they support AutoAuth, they don't. You have to use a gateway bypass cable. (Tearing the dash apart to find to begin with)The renewal is $549/yr for the Phoenix Plusafter your first 2 years.OVERALL, good unit. Probably overpriced like the others. Free 2 years of updates. Probably buy a new one after 2 years. 2 years of updates will buy a new unit alone, so....Buy one. I think you'll be happily surprised.
Excellent a must have diagnostic tool
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } A scan tool for mechanic is a must.If you looking to buy a scanner you are probably mechanic or diy-er and you now without one you can't do nothing on your car in regard of diagnosing problems.I have scanners in the past but the Phoenix plus is something else. What does it have that other scanners don't. Let me tell you this thing is a machine. From solid construction, battery that holds charge for a serious amount of time and downloading speed up to 30k kb/s this scanner impressed me.Comes with 2 years warranty excellent customer support and 2 years of free updates, you can continue using the scanner after 2 years with the last update that you'll have and you are not obligated to purchase updates of you choose not to.The tool comes in a nice plastic box full with accessories like older stile connectors charging brick and cables.I have this scanner for some months now and I've successfully diagnosed issues with my vehicles .excellent futures like topology map will help you find your way during troubleshooting a problem. Bidirectional control it's a function that is like no other and a lot more.it has a online support for vw group which I haven't use so far but it's there.if you on a market for a scan tool I would definitely recommend the Phoenix plus.
Excellent Product!!
Excellent scan tool.Well versed in the European market as I require this tool to perform Diagnosis.Quick service reset is a great tool as well as many other quick service options.
TOPDON Phoenix Plus ECU Coding Scan Tool
We operate a large automotive repair facility and are used to using Snap On scan tools. We purchased the TOPDON on the recommendations of one of our mechanics who has experience using it. So far it is faster and easier to use than some more expensive scanners we have. It takes less time to update and the battery lasts much longer than the others. It comes with additional cables and connectors in the hard case and a rugged cover for the scanner tool. Overall this is a great scanner and good value for the cost of the unit.Lastly, it comes with 2 years free update on the software.
Good general purpose tool for home and light commercial use
I like the battery life on the scanner, it came almost fully charged but I was able to charge and upgrade all software immediately without issue. I have used the scanner on a number of vehicles (2007 Mazda 3, 2012 Mazda 3, 2009 Honda pilot, 2011 Acura tsx and and 2012 Santa Fe sport (awd coupling reset after replacement -adaptation). I was only surprised once that the scanner could not pick up an oxygen sensor code in the 2007 mazda 3, but the OBD II generic scanner built in and was able to see it. Overall very happy with the vin scan, access to special functions and not disappointed at all. Even though I use this as a scanner and service tool that will likely be good for me for a number of years, from a commercial perspective it probable lacks in some areas such as computer programming through j2534 interface, but hey I didn’t buy it for that purpose anyway. Will update if I have any issues, and btw use honey app to check the price I was able to get it for 1216.00 it is at 1500+ right now, Honey gave me the price history and I made an educated guess for the sale date and as a result saved 300+/-.Definitely not disappointed in my purchase!
Great buy
