(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I am really impressed with this little amplifier. I own two other battery powered amps: a small 10 watt Boss Katana (using 6 AA batteries) costing a bit over $100 and a larger 60 watt Fishman Loudbox Mini Charge (with an internal Lithium Ion battery) costing well over $500. The Boss bugged me with its pre-set tone controls and tinny comparative sound. I play solo acoustic melodic ukulele, and wanted a boost of the natural sweet sound of the nylon strings. I didn’t really need the distorted settings on the Boss. The Fishman is a great portable amp that I use for gigs (weddings/dinner music), but just a bit bulky to move around the house for practice or carry on the street. This 30 watt CoolMusic amp has an internal LI battery like the Fishman. Although its sound is appropriately not as full, it still is a great sound that I’d feel very comfortable using as a busking amp. The size and weight is easily moved around, and in fact comes with a great strap that falls away from the controls. That strap is held on with the same buttons you’d see on a guitar, so you can easily use an instrument strap to throw over a shoulder for carrying to a street performance. Although compact, the little amp has substantial weight, probably from the sturdy wood case. The power is substantial. I can barely move the volume button a quarter of the dial without blowing me out of the house or causing some feedback. I’ve not yet tried this outdoors, but suspect it would easily push some higher yet volume. I appreciate the separate bass and treble tone controls, with the addition of both chorus and reverb. These are the basics I wanted. It is missing a gain control that might produce the distortion that some may want (but not me). It is also missing the gimmicky delay control and the mid-range tone control, both not that important to me.At only $117 (current price that I paid), it is an amazing bargain compared to the similarly priced Boss, and especially to the 5 times price of the Fishman. And, like the Fishman, it adds a second mic input for vocals or a second instrument. Plus, it has a ⅛” input to add recorded music from a separate device. This thing is well engineered, especially for acoustic string instruments where you may want a natural amplified sound. But maybe this best thing for me is that I can plug in a headset for private monitoring while I practice. (Sorry, no Bluetooth for wireless). I'm finding that I play much more quiet acoustically when monitoring via headphones. That more relaxed attack on the strings is improving my playing skills. And, my wife has a much lower chance of being bothered by my practice. Win-win.BTW, I've been playing this thing for a few hours and the battery is still on full charge mode. I bet I can easily get 4 or 5 hours of performance from it. Can you tell I'm happy with my purchase?
5.0 out of 5 stars A nice convenient amp for a solo gig and practice.
This is very good value for the dollar. Overall I am satisfied to have gone with this choice rather than go with Fishman, Bose or Boss comparables which are much more expensive. The build quality is good. Tone quality is good when adjusted from flat. With an SM 58 mic into the vocal channel I can turn up to about half before feedback and distortion. The guitar channel volume I keep at 8 oclock for vocal/guitar balance. The reverb adjustable on both channels is large hall effect that I keep that at 11 o'clock the chorus level on the guitar is set 2 o'clock. This is my home practice and performance volume about 70 dB for a restaurant setting where I need to have a quick easy portable set-up not wanting to haul separate speakers, stands, mixers or a pedalboard. Bass on the vocal is at 2 oclock to get a bit more oomph on the voice. Treble on the guitar is set to 2 oclock. The tones from 6.5 inch woofer and 1.5 inch tweeter are so set to be satisfying so that I don't need to haul my Marshall ASD50 or PA cabs. The manual is terse needs more explanation or detail and so I had problems initially charging the battery using a smartphone USB C cable. Using the USB C cable provided and a different charger fixed this. A charging indicator light comes on the back panel when the connection is good and the battery is charging and will go off when the battery is fully charged. Then the top panel battery level indicator will have all 3 LED lights lit upon power up. The provided Bluetooth connection is useful for practice when Im learning new songs and need to hear the original tune on my phone. The amp looks good, feels good, sounds good and is a nice addition to my collection of 10 other amplifiers.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome. Seriously, it’s awesome.
Long lasting battery. One review says 2 hours but mine lasts way longer than that. The battery meter on mine doesn’t even start to drop after 3+ hours. Also it sounds fantastic and is easily portable. The little strap that comes with it can be swapped out with a regular guitar strap if you want to carry it slung it over your shoulder.
5.0 out of 5 stars Amplifier
It’s a really nice amplifier and small enough to pack around. Great for playing outside that may not have electric.

Great reverb, and Even the chorus is good!
HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO ADD REVERB EVERY TIME YOU PICK UP AN ACOUSTIC??? Here you go, folks....youre not stick playing in the study or the basement anymore. Play in the backyard or patio, Take this thing to a park or the beach and stare out at the lake while playing. So many possibilities you don't realize until you play acoustic guitar through this. You could throw a guitar strap on this things standard straplocks and ride a bike to a gig with you guitar in another gigbag. It's not super heavy. The reverb and chorus are usable on TWO INPUTS and you can run two guitars simultaneously and control he reverb independently on both, or mic the same guitar you have plugged in and get two channels of blended amazing acoustic tone!If you know what you're doing witb eqs and preamps going into the amp, this amp sounds really good. Some reviewers say 'you can't use BT music or aux while playing an instrument. That's not true. You can, you just again...have to know what you're doing. Eq the guitar with some kind of preamp to level it down so that the speaker can handle both. I was playing along to R.E M and bon jovi on this thing ...so it definitely does work.It doesn't just work either, it blew my expectations away. If you've always wanted an amp that you could throw on the coffee table or the patio and play just slightly louder than your natural acoustic tone...with some added gorgeous reverb...this amp is for you. If you're a busker and you need accompaniment.. buy 2. Not saying that to truck you it's just true. No amp this small is going to blast a drum pattern AND amplify am acoustic guitar...just not possible. I have good amps likey boss acoustic singer live LT, it also distorts of you overload it with backing track audio....it's physics, you can't have ONE speaker doing TWO loud things at once unless they're monitor speakers working in stereo. It will always jumble the audio...it's a single speaker trying to vibrate more than a >12" speaker canMy first amp had some technical issues, but the team at cool music helped me out and my 2nd one sounds great, and the amp is working great! This amp is definitely worth it and for practise, guitar teachers that need a lightweight mini rig that TWO people can plug into at once in multiple ways (I checked, and the mic input takes direct)IT EVEN DIs OUT TO PAs!!! Performers could bring this in lieu of a DI...and even though this is heavier....it's cheaper than a LOT OF DIs that don't have this many features .the speaker and the fact it's all amp is almost a bonus...And I know this all sounds TOO good but trust me it isn't. A lot of overseas companies have cracked the code on not just 'usable' but good gear...in fact I'll probably sell my boss amp because...when will I ever use it again really? I just wanted reverb and slightly louder than an acoustic is naturally...that's all any of us want and this amp delivers.
A great little amp with just the right features.
Purchased this to replace a great Bose l1 compact system. Of course this isn’t anywhere close to the Bose but, seeing as covid government interference I didn’t have any place to play so decided to reduce my equipment inventory. I bought this little guy as now that we have freedom to leave the house, I am doing music ministry at seniors homes and this is a lot lighter to lug around. It works well in the rooms I go in and the fact that there is some fx for the guitar and voice it suits my purposes.Am happy with the unit. This is the second one I bought as I damaged the first one by plugging it in wrong to a larger system to try something and I burned an ic on one of the circuit boards. Wish I could get it fixed but apparently the seller or factory won’t sell parts. Oh well. Am still happy with this unit.
Amazing speaker and an even more amazing seller!
I initially received a dud however the seller reached out to me and provided a speaker in perfect working order, I am over the hill happy with this speaker and cannot recommend this product and the seller more!I love the flexibility of this speaker, that it can be used with multiple inputs (guitar, microphone, auxiliary, audio jack, and bluetooth). And on top of that it has a rechargeable battery to power it. so far so good, I am looking forward to using this speaking in a variety of ways and locations.
Good for guitar, not quite so good for voice
I already have a CoolMusic BP80 that has served me well as an outdoor amp for a few years - it has a great feature selection, good sound, great battery life, and fair price, so I've been very happy with it. However, I wanted something smaller that I could more easily carry on a bicycle. The BP Mini is certainly that. Though a great deal smaller, it feels similarly solid and well thought through. There's nothing visibly cheap about the construction.and there's nothing that works badly. Like the BP80, a lot of thought has gone into producing a cheap amp that works well (though, like the BP80, the instruction booklet needs work - very basic and not very informative). The amp is very clear and pairs nicely with an electro-acoustic guitar, with a good mid-range sound and enough highs and lows to make it sound quite full. However, for my voice (a deep baritone) the lack of bass and high tones is quite noticeable and it kind of flattens out the sound. I'm quite disappointed in this - it really lacks any warmth, height, or depth. It could work well for some thinner voices, but not mine. The lack of phantom power significantly limits the range of microphones you can use, too. Interestingly, it sounds a bit better with the high output of a $25 Behringer SM58 clone than with the lower output of my vintage Shure 55SH.The two independent inputs and associated controls provide all the basics a solo singer/guitarist is likely to need, albeit little more than that. The independent volume knob for the aux or bluetooth input is a good touch, if you want to feed a backing device into it. The reverb is OK if you keep it low, but not great. The chorus is fine. The DI and headphone out sockets are handy. It lacks a means to mount it on a stand. With a low powered speaker like this you really do need to get it up high to reach a crowd. I use a small accessory shelf attached to a mic stand for this, but that adds extra stuff to carry that negates some of the point of getting a small amp. I do like the USB power, though, which saves having another big brick and wires to carry around. The battery life is easily enough for a 3 hour gig, with plenty to spare.Buyer beware: it has 30 watts of Peak Music Power, not RMS. That means that it is about as loud as a 10-15 watt RMS amp, which will certainly disturb the neighbours, but you will get significant distortion if you crank it up. I can get a clean sound from it at roughly the same subjective volume as a much smaller (but much more expensive) 5 watt amp and, though it will certainly get louder than the smaller amp, the sound quality notably suffers. Mid tones stay clean, but the top and bottom are pretty rubbish at higher volumes.
