I bought 100ft of this 12 gauge wire for some other purposes, but just for fun, tonight I decided to build two 8 ft speaker cables using my favorite (and affordable) FosPower gold-plated banana plugs. Very nice, flexible cable, easy installation of the banana plugs. Total cost $6.60 per speaker.I'm not a pro, but I've put together a great sounding 2-channel stereo system. Audible Illusions Line Stage tube pre-amp, my favorite older discrete Yamaha Integrated Amp, Marantz SACD/CD player, Fluance RT85 turntable, and Paradigm Studio 20 v4 monitors. A VERY revealing system. I unplugged my fairly expensive Aural Thrills Audio heavy speaker cable, and hooked up these newly built cables.My first test was my Pink Floyd Dark Side of The Moon Mobile Fidelity Sound Studio Remastered UltraDisc. Damn. I swear my system never sounded better. Better imaging, bass extension, clarity. Second test was vinyl. Alabama Shakes Boys and Girls Clear. Same sonic results.I'll do some more testing, but needless to say (and apologies to the companies selling $200 speaker cables), there is NO WAY you'll be disappointed in this speaker cable. It's 22 cents PER FOOT. Use your favorite quality banana plugs, or direct wire them without plugs for even cheaper if you wish. I'd give this cable 10 stars if I could!
