I have a Husqvarna 223L weed eater and want to attach a fixed blade for cutting a heavy weeded area in my backyard. The 223L actually has a 10 tooth shaft similar to a Stihl weed eater. This kit works great for both 6 tooth and 10 tooth shaft trimmers. I am very happy with it's fit and ease of use. I would highly recommend it. Thank you for the great product and low cost.

Trying to find a blade kit that will work with my Ryobi SS30 Weed Trimmer has been an exercise in futility. I still have not got this one to work, but I have not given up hope. I just need the motivation to continue trying. The parts included in this kit are well made but it is NOT universal because it does not work with my Ryobi straight shaft weed trimmer so I cannot recommend it or give it more than One Star.If you do have a Ryobi weed trimmer, you should read this first before you buy this kit - especially if you have a model SS30.First off, the Ryobi SS30 Weed Trimmer has a gear nut that requires a M8x1.25 left hand thread nut and this kit does NOT come with a M8x1.25 left hand thread nut. It does come with two nuts though...neither of which are M8x1.25...go figure. The description does not tell you what size nuts are included, but I can say with certainty it does not include a M8x1.25 because I had to purchase said nut (in quantity no less) and guess what....it fits - shocking. It took me a lot of digging to find out the size of that dang nut too !!This is the second blade kit I have tried. The first one did not have the correct splined adapter that matches up with the shaft on the Ryobi SS30 Weed Trimmer so I had to return it. This kit has two adapters with different splines; six and ten teeth, the later being the one that fits - so at least I had that going for me. However, it did not have the correct nut that matches up with the shaft and holds the entire assembly together. I decided to just order the nut(s) since it "appeared" the kit had the rest of the parts needed - I was just missing the nut. Between the time I realized the kit did not have the correct hardware needed and the time that went bye for me to order the M8x1.25 left hand thread nut and the time it took me to try and make the kit fit, I could no longer return the kit...I was stuck.I say "stuck" because I still have not had any success getting the kit to work. It has all the parts needed and they assemble in the proper order and "look" correct but when the M8x1.25 left hand thread nut is tightened to hold it all together, the adapter binds and the blade will not spin. The problem is that the collar on the inward side of the blade adapter is a little thicker than the adapter that it replaces so it bottoms out on the housing of the gear head instead of the very center of the gear head preventing it from spinning. I have some ideas on how to fix this problem but lack the motivation to do so.I have not given up though and I will make this kit work, but if my time was money....this would end up being one super expensive kit !!
