This book presents the information in a way that easy to understand and follow. I passed the notary exam first try with about 2 weeks of studying. The way the book is laid out makes it very easy understand and retain the information. Very affordable.

So here's what ill say about this book. If you are taking a nys notary really and truly you gotta study. My first time taking the exam i went hog wild taking the practice tests in this book and although that helped me build knowledge it wasn't enough for the in person exam if you study study study the heck out of this material you'll definitely pass. I restudied after I got my fail and the following week I retook my exam and passed. I also found several practice rests on quizlett which gives you a free 7 day trial so use rhat too because those questions are worded better than this book. What I mean by that is those questions are like word for word for the notary exam

Book has the 'legalese' definitions and the common language definition alongside it. That is helpful. Lots of practice tests and quizzes and a detailed glossary. The only issue is the wording. Some of it is a little convoluted where it could be a true AND false answer. It's an updated version of previous publications. If you have an older version, you could use that. The only difference is the practice tests etc. and the addition of the electronic notary info (which you can easily obtain online). But overall, a decent study guide

Before I got this book, I took an online course. I took the exam and failed even though I was passing the practice tests in that course. After I failed my exam, I got this book and it helped so much! It’s more of an “index card” way of studying. But it helped so much! Also the exam questions are worded just like the practice exam questions in the back of this book. It helped me pass the exam the second time I took it. Definitely get this book if you want to pass!

This book was perfect…laws were explained clearly and easily. Reviewed it multiple times and did the questions before taking the practice tests. Took the test for the first time last week and just got my passed slip today. Highly recommend this book. Everything you need is in it.

This is the only thing I used to study for the Notary exam. I went through this book multiple times and it had everything necessary to pass the test. The best thing about it was the fact that there was a simplified version of the law side by side with the actual law. Made it so much easier to understand some of the laws.

Time to get studying. Great book to get you ready for the NY exam
Well laid out for people with little time to study.
Everything is well laid out making it easy to digest. I studied the book the night before taking the exam and ran through the practice exams twice. I would guess total study time to be about 4 hours or so. I dropped one star because there were about 8 or so questions on the test that were not covered in the book. It could be luck of the draw as those questions had very little to deal with being a notary and more law focused. Passed on the first try with zero previous knowledge and a short focused study session, so I can’t complain so much.
