5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommend this organic pea protein! You'll get used to the flavor quickly

I think "Solo" should be removed from the title because it makes people think that's the name of the company when this product is actually made by Folona, not a company called "Solo." The first few times I used this product I struggled with the flavor, even gagged the first time I drank it, but after a few times using it I quickly got accustomed to the flavor and texture. It will clump and be overly thick unless properly mixed because there are no declumping agents added (only ingredient is the pea protein). I used a milk frother designed for lattes and cappuccinos, though a blender would also work.I appreciate that this protein powder is from peas grown in Canada rather than the United States. 99% of farms in the US use dangerous, non-organic, toxic herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers as well as other nasty chemicals. Only ~1% of farmland is the US is organic, a frighteningly low figure, that can be increased by only buying organic foods — demand increases the availability of organic foods and reduces the area of non-organic farmland.RoundUp (glyphosate) has an insanely long half-life rendering it effectively non-biodegradable and one of the "forever chemicals" to avoid at all costs. Any farmers using non-organic farmland today who want to switch to organic won't be able to effectively do so for years, if ever, because of the glyphosate content, and other chemicals, in the soil. Indoor cultivation and hydroponics are ways US-grown food/plants can avoid the toxic/forever chemicals in the soil. I prefer buying food grown in European countries (glyphosate has been outlawed in most of the EU for years) or Canada where I believe glyphosate is used less frequently and therefore I hope there is much less glyphosate in the soil and thus less in this product.I'm amazed at the amount of protein per serving (30 grams!) for only two scoops of powder. The size of the container is great because it's actually nearly full so very little wasted space which I appreciate. I also like that this product has a significant amount of iron (one serving has 55% of the RDA) which is difficult for me, as a vegetarian, to get enough of in my diet everyday.Compared to the Terrasoul brand organic GMO-free pea protein powder, I strongly prefer this Folona brand powder in terms of price, consistency, and taste. I will definitely buy this product again. I'm very happy to have found a vegan/vegetarian-friendly source of protein. I also love the fact that the amino acid breakdown is listed on the label indicating exactly how much, in grams, there is of every essential and non-essential amino acid. Very helpful for those who track their calories and nutrient intake.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best there is.
Less sodium and Organic, these are the reasons to buy. All other Pea Proteins offer high Sodium, the closet to this would be the Naked Brand but I still think it is 2x the amount of sodium this has. I saw some complaining about taste, totally understand that. At some point though, isn't it all about the protein? I mix mine in a shake with a lot of ingredients myself. I am thinking some people mix this just with water??? Not sure. Also, it looks like Pea Protein provides the most protein out of all the Vegan options with all the aminos needed. Thanks!
5.0 out of 5 stars Very little grittiness and great lack of taste to take over your foods.
I had not tried the unflavored pea protein before, and I love it. It allows me more latitude in making smoothies and I can slip it into dishes when cooking for a protein boost. I am full for hours after a smoothie with berries or other fruit.
4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, depends on what you mix it with
Worked in carrot cake muffins, sweet potato waffles, and tropical smoothies with mango, pineapple, and/or strawberries + spinach + coconut milk. When mixed with just water, oat milk, or a light flavored juice the pea taste is pronounced. Doesn’t aggravate my SIBO though, so I am happy enough with it. May try out some other brands (like Anthony’s) to see if green pea isolate tastes better.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love it
Works pretty well, switched to pea protein for post workouts while still incorporating protein from red meat in my daily meals, and can say this works pretty well, easy to mix, had no problems with digestion and it's low in sodium. Taste wise it will taste like peas (but that should be obvious), overall I had no problems making fruit smoothies and adding the protein, value wise it's good for what you're getting, it lasted me quite a while.
5.0 out of 5 stars good alternative to dairy whey
other than the grittiness when dissolved, I prefer this over diary whey, as it seems to be more friendly to my GI. Not sure if bioavailability of the protein/aminos are comparable.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great!
Has no taste, no sugar low sodiumJust want I wanted. A full jar and bigger amount than I expected.
4.0 out of 5 stars I'll let you know
I'm a first time user,so far so good.
Very nice and satisfying

In fact my family and I like it a lot. The flavour is pleasant, not offensive in any way.We use a healthy oat drink with little to no additives or semi skimmed milk for the main fluid. Then sometimes we add some greek yogurt, small amount of raw cacao powder, a small squeeze of maple syrup... sometimes... Even a shake of chilli flakes! Yum!It's satiating and the texture when mixed is lovely. It thinkens nicely in fluid and is not at all grainy. When some reviews criticise it that it still tastes of peas, it's very mild and subtle. But also it does have a nice taste. If you're not a fan of pea flavour, don't buy pea protein. At any rate this one is definitely on the mild subtle side. There may be better products out there in this range, and there certainly are much more expensive options, but this one is great!
