This flat back pin with end cap has been great for making hat and lapel pins that add to hat bands, leis and even aloha shirts. The flat backing makes application of various materials including fabric and foam flowers through just use if hot glue and easy process. The end caps ensure that there is no pricked fingers or head pokes. The end is sharp but glides through even thick woven hats without issue and without distortion - pin stays straight. A simple piece that can easily be customized to fit a variety of needs.

These are the best boutonniere pins that I have ever bought. I have tried several different kinds, but these are by far the best. They have the nice little cap that cap the pokey end of the pin so that the boys do not get poked I will continue to buy these have bought them several times.

I make stick pins from odd earrings and other pretty things that I find, so these pins are perfect as the base. I glue the earrings on (after removing the original clip or stud) with an epoxy glue that looks like metal. It goes into the holes in the flat part for a more secure bond. When that dries, I add another thin layer of epoxy on the entire back, smoothing it as much as I can before it dries. Voila! It looks good and the earring never falls off of the pin. I use these stick pins to hold my scarves in place, so believe me when I say that I'm glad that little safety guard for the tip protects me from sticking myself!

The quality of these is decent, but the sizing has been rounded for the info-graphic; the pin is shorter and the disk is larger. I'll still use them but will need to find some that actually have a .5 inch disk to finish this particular project.Measurements of the pins I received:Length 7.5cm / 2.9 inchesDisk 1.6cm / .63 inches
