That is, until someone inevitably steals them from the lab. They've become the go-to pens around here for a reason.

I have been using Pilot gel pens for decades and never thought to try anything else. These were so much cheaper, I thought it was worth a try. I just got them and immediately gave one a try. It is great and much less expensive. If I have problems or don't like them in the long run, I will come back and tell you so. In the meantime, I highly recommend giving them a try.

Great pens and great value. I don't usually like a jell pen, but these are perfect. My coworkers and spouse love them so much I have to buy a new set each year.

Our company was purchasing the G2 gel pens and wanted to test out a few alternatives for cost savings. I purchased a pack of these as a test, handing out a half dozen across different departments across the shop. The review below is what I've received from various users in our shop:Pros:- Writes well, similar to the G2 pens. They are smooth.- They came with caps over the pen tips to keep them from leaking in the box.- Better smudge resistance than the G2. It seems to dry a bit faster- Color is very similar to the G2- Cost of these pens is vastly cheaper than the G2Cons:- Not as much ink as the G2, as seen in the photo- Rubber finger gripping pad slips off easily- I could only find these bulk in Black. We also use blue and red quite often.Conclusion:So far, the employees that use these type pens are happy with them. The primary complaint has been the gripping pad slipping off easily. They have not complained about any pens leaking or any not writing. One employee mentioned he liked the ink in these better because it didn't smudge as bad as the G2. These will be added to the "BUY" list for future purchases.

As an artist I use a lot of black gel pens. The feel of tleritying and drawing with these pens are pure silk. They don't skiplike other regular ink may be prone to do.

Think Ballpoint pen with Gel InkBallpoint because you can write on slick materials like receipts, but with the benefits of a gel inkGel ink dries quick and is often considered a smooth writing experience. The nib is .7mm thick so it glides easy but it does smear quite a bit.The pen body overall is pretty decent in terms of comfort, think Pilot G2.Despite the 3 star review, this is a good pen, it's just not for me (my preference is a .38mm Pilot G2 pen)Definitely caught a few pen thieves too, so that's another bonus
