Good size as mentioned. Easy to put together.The lid doesn’t sit well causing the batter to splatter out.I really wanted this to work like the older wet grinders.Extra Plastic chipped off of the base of handle for the stone, making us worry if it got blended into the batter.Adding water is a hassle as we have to keep opening the lid and worry if we will be making a bigger mess. Older versions have a hole in the lid to add water.The coconut scraper doesn’t function safely or usefully.Noise level is as anticipated. Heats up quickly.Cleaning was as anticipated. Overall returning it.

The media could not be loaded. Poor parts finish.. lot of plastic scraping on the product.. this puts a big question mark on their engineering and manufacturing unit hygiene and condition. We had Ultra for 10 years and wanna have new table tilt.. comparing Ultra.. Ponmani has a long way to go on plastic quality and finishing.. returned the product seeing the unquality finish (broken) and also dusts.. plastic scraped.. black oil marks.. Wont recommend this product unless they step up their overall finishing quality!
Impressed: From Packing to Performance
Absolutely very good packing in 3 layer strong and heavy box. The appliance was further packed in 2 layers of plastic and in addition mounted on thermocole above and below. Arrived without a scratch.Appliance itself was very well made and designed considering it is a completely indian product. Strongly made. The grinding stones were precisely cut as far as I can see. The accessories were also quite very well made. Some reviewers have mentioned about the low quality plastics used. I did not find it of low quality. Engineering grade plastic has been used but the finishing is not up to the mark. That is the only deficiency. Functionality is not affected at all.Tilting is very easy. Noise levels while working is considerably less according to my better half.It is a workhorse designed to last long. Coimbatore manufacturers are known for their grinders- there is a still working 1979 vintage grinder at my parents' house (changed the belt once, that's it).I think the Ponmani brand is still not known much outside of Tamilnadu- at least not in Trivandrum, Kerala. I feel it is excellent value for money and highly recommend it.In conclusion I would like to mention that the dosas made from the batter ground with this machine turned out softer and tastier than ones made by the blender. The volume of batter produced was also more. Five stars!
Works Well
After a lot of searching & reviewing I settled on Ponmani, mainly because it has a Copper Wired Motor unlike many others that have Aluminium Wired Motor.Also before purchase I had some doubts, so I called the Customer Care and for a change I was directly answered by a human and my doubts were satisfactorly & swiftly solved.Coming to the product, am reviewing after 8months of purchase with a usage of twice a month.This is my 1st Wet Grinder, so I do not have another benchmark to compare to except for on points noted through other reviews.On noise level, it's not too noisy and neither too silent.On heating, it's very negligible even after running for 30-40minsOn Grinding, 600gms of rice takes less than 10mins to grind. Very efficient.My major issues is removing the batter. I wish there was a locking mechanism on the tilting feature.Because right now we have to keep holding the heavy grinder in the tilted position with one hand.It's very inefficient & difficult to remove the batter with only 1 free hand.Plus you can only remove the batter in a container with less height because after tilting the grinder to a position where you can effectively remove the batter there is not much space left from the floor.I have to keep the grinder on a small table.Cleaning is easy. I just add sufficient water after the grinding and let it run for a few mins and it does the jobThe plastic quality of the coconut scraper with the machine is very bad.
Superb one, will recommend for everyone
The media could not be loaded. The product is good. The noise level is less compared to other grinders. It doesn't have lock for tilting, but it is perfectly holding in the tilted position. Feeling like the motor is getting heat but it is not affecting the drum and batter. Suitable for family size of 4 members as it is 2 l capacity only.Weight is good and the stand sturdiness is good, giving a small jerk, while switching on, but after that the operation is sturdy and good balance. There is no batter leakage during the operation.The drum is 360 degrees tiltable. But practically you can tilt it to horizontal position and collect the batter with spatula or hands. If you have stand for grinder with more height than floor then you can simply tilt more than 90 degrees and collect the batter with out touch.

First and foremost, the wet grinder itself is faulty. Upon using it, I noticed two major issues:Excessive Noise: The grinder produces a loud and disturbing noise when in use, which makes it almost unbearable to operate.Faulty Lid: The lid does not fit properly, leading to spills and a complete lack of confidence in its functionality.What followed has been an ongoing nightmare. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue, my return process has been an absolute disaster.Failed Pickup Attempts: The return pickup has been rescheduled five times. Each time, I have rearranged my work schedule to accommodate the pickup, but none of the attempts have been successful. The latest pickup was scheduled for 8th November 2024, but based on my past experiences, I have little hope this will happen either.Lack of Resolution: I have had multiple frustrating conversations with various customer service agents, including Mr. Sathishkumar, Mr. Rajesh, Ms. Prachi, and Ms. Padmini. Every time I’ve called, I was assured that the pickup would happen, but nothing has been done to resolve the issue.
