(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I bought this product for my back tattoo. Let your Tattoo Artist apply the wrap on you. Leave it on for up to 24 hours depending on how much plasma is accumulated under the wrap. Plasma is very healthy and normal for your tattoo and is only viable after 24 hours. It heals your tattoo faster and that is why your tattoo is itchy on day 2. We all know if your tattoo itches, it is beginning the healing/peeling process of your tattoo. Common sense. If you have itching ALONG WITH bumps under or around the wrap, you are most likely sensitive to the adhesive. Remove it and do not add another one and follow traditional practices. After the 24 hours, clean your tattoo. Do not add anything under the wrap. Just apply it after you’ve air dried your tattoo and leave it on to UP TO 7 days. It will be itchy as hell under your tattoo. To remove your wrap, get inside the shower and pull DOOOWN like you’re removing a command strip. If it feels resistant or dry, run some water under the wrap and pull again. Once you have taken your wrap off, start applying unscented lotion.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great stuff, works well so far
I've used this on 4 tattoos now, replacing it after the first 24 hours, then leaving the replacement on for 5 days. It hasn't budged through showers, work, or tight fitting clothes. Peeled off easily when intentionally pulled at, no pain, no difficulty, no residue in the tattoos. It can be a little difficult to remove the backing if cut too small, but any wrinkled bits from picking it apart can either be cut away or left to make removal easier later. If a small section doesn't stick how you like, another piece can be overlapped to adhere it better.
5.0 out of 5 stars A Must-Have for Easy, Clean Tattoo Healing
This second skin made healing my tattoo so much easier! It was simple to apply, stayed in place without peeling, and kept my tattoo clean and protected during those critical first few days. No more constant washing and ointment—just peel, stick, and let it do its job. It’s breathable, waterproof, and didn’t cause any irritation. When I removed it, my tattoo looked vibrant and healed beautifully with minimal scabbing. I’ll never go back to traditional healing methods again. Highly recommend for anyone getting fresh ink!
4.0 out of 5 stars Can only use in large pieces with the starter strip to separate the bottom layer
I purchased this to put over my hormone patches, it works fine but I'll look for a better product next time. It took me a while to figure this out, and to realize that only large patches of this can be used because of the small starter strip that is only on one side. You can't cut just a small square. Without the starter strip, it's impossible to separate the bottom layer. So any piece you cut must include the starter strip on that one side. Hopefully that makes sense. A lot of user error before you'll figure it out and wrinkly pieces that don't stick.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great
Very easy to apply to the skin. It sticks hard, so much so that if you have hair in the area, it will hurt a bit to pull it off. Showering with it on is well too, no issues there even when body scrubbing. Doesn’t roll up when squatting down either.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works exactly as advertised
I’m pretty sure all the negative reviews for this product are all user error. I’ve healed a number of tats with second skin and this product works exactly like any other. When applying, keep In mind:- There’s essentially 3 layers here (2 that peel). The first peel is protecting the side that sticks to your skin. The second is the actual membrane layer that sticks to your skin, and the third (outer) layer is a little thicker, kinda like plastic.- The little strip that you pull from the first layer is just a starter strip. It’s not nearly as sticky as the rest of the layer because it’s just for positioning. This is where I think folks are getting confused and saying “it doesn’t stick”. But once you get the positioning right, you then start to peel away the rest, which is the protective layer, slowly compressing to your tat as you peel.- Now the second (protective membrane) layer is securely on your tat.- But, there’s still a third layer, and it’s kinda rigid. Start in the middle of the blue ribbon and pull back in both directions (this third layer comes away in two pieces)- Now you’re just left with that second (middle) layer that’s protecting your tat. And trust me - it sticks just fine. In 4 to 5 days, you’ll know just how well it sticks because it’s kinda hard to pull off.- don’t take it off dry and don’t peel it off.- take it off in the shower under warm water. Slowly pull it parallel to your body as the adhesive gives way. Again, don’t peel.- you’ll see a little plasma and leftover ink stick to the layer. Completely normal and is not damaging your tattoo- you also may see what looks like leftover adhesive. It’s not, that’s actually peeling skin. Gently wash the area with soap but do NOT pull any of that skin off.- once you’re out of the shower, your tat will feel dryer than a bone. Start the moisturizing process 3 times a day.- there will still be some light skin peeling for the next 5 days, but after that, your tat will look as good as new.
3.0 out of 5 stars Works well enough, but I had a allergic reaction.
I bought this a while back and finally put it to use. It works as advertised, but I had a reaction to it, and this is ripped off small bits of skin and was very itchy and started forming bumps. I did remove it as you should, in the shower under water, making sure bro was wet. Either way, works well, but I will probably pass the rest of it off to someone else who doesn't have allergies ;^;
4.0 out of 5 stars Good product!!
It worked well but stuck to the tattoo a little bit.
Perfect!

Worked perfectly and was easy to put on
waterproof
works well to keep your incision and bandages dry while you shower
Great stuff
Love this stuff an it came super fast
Work great if not cutting into small strips
I'm sure if you use this to cover large tattoos that it would be great. I have used the brand name version of this many times for securing theatre microphones to faces for performances... And for that you cut them into small strips and they work well without causing tape rashes which happen often with medical tape. This stuff has an easy peel part that only works if cut a certain way and it limits its uses for smaller strip cuts. But if you need larger sheets I'm sure it'll work great for you.
Allergic reaction after 12ish hours
The second skin my tattoo artist put on needed to be changed so i bought this in hopes to keep my solid black tattoo from getting dust from work on it. But i broke out in a rash under it and throughout my tattoo. This second skin is shiny and kind of tacky, the one my tattoo artist uses is matte and doesnt cause me rashes.
