Worth every penny. Has so many settings and temperature options you can cook anything on it: I love that the plates pop out and can be put in the dishwasher. This was my best purchase of 2024!I don’t know how to explain but using this panini press on sandwiches makes it taste 10x better. So easy and quick to use and very tasty.The open grill is also so awesome. I’ve made pancakes and KBBQ and it’s such an awesome feature. Really easy to remove and clean the plates.Highly recommend if you wanna take your Sammies to the next level

Great appliance to have around your kitchen if you don’t have time to start your grill. I use my all the time heat levels are easy to adjust and stay at correct temp. Nothing sticks to the grill you can use a cooking spray or oil if you like so to do most I do not. Nothing sticks smokeless, sleek design easy to store. Worth every penny I spent.

It works fine, but my main complaints are no timer. What? Even our previous El cheapo had a timer on it. And it's really really sticky. I've used very stiff plastic bristle brushes on it to very little effect. I end up scraping it with my thumbnail to get the worst of it off. Overall it's a nice unit, but a timer and true non stick surface would get a 5 star rating from me.

The non stick surface is much mire durable than what I have seen on similar products. The temperature control is precise and can be relied on not yo burn. It heats up much faster than a previous sandwich press that I owned which was the main reason I bought this one. I was not disappointed. The lid is a bit heavier and may tend to squeeze out ingredients. But it has a stop that can be used to make a minimum gap that prevents this.

I absolutely love that the metal plates are easily removable to be washed and I don't have to wrestle with the entire appliance to try to wash it like I did with my old one. I could put the plates in the dishwasher, but I choose to wash them by hand and it's super fast and easy. Nothing ever bakes on or requires scrubbing. Grilled cheese and burritos cook super fast to perfection leaving them crispy and golden brown (on the panini setting) and everyone loves them. Laying the grill flat to grill meats is also super easy and they turn out great. I hesitated to spend the extra money on this, but it was well worth it and I think I will be using this grill for years to come. Money well spent!

The Breville BGR700BSS1BUS1 grill is really nice to use, but hell to clean. The 'floating' hinge design is great and the top grill centres nicely at any height I select over the bottom grill with food in between. I love the separate heat dial controls for top and bottom plates, and the steel finish. The handle stays cool. It's easy to open it flat and use in 'bbq' mode. I've used it for steak, grilled cheese, garlic bread; as well as grilled asparagus, eggplant, and portobello mushrooms.The ceramic-coated plates are described as 'non stick', and this is true for something like melted cheese.After toasting garlic bread (the kind that comes pre-buttered), then putting the plates in the dishwasher, they came out with sticky oil residue. So I washed that off by hand. After grilling vegetables noted above, pre-soaking for 2 minutes, then hand washing with a soapy sponge took 10 minutes for the bottom grill plate, and 15 minutes for the top grill plate, but that one required use of nylon scrubber and some hard work. (The instructions say nylon scrubber is ok to use.)Steak done in minutes. Seared with grill-marks, wow! nice. But it took 60 minutes to clean the grill afterwards. The experience makes me wish the grill was cast iron; at least then we could use heavy abrasives to clean it. I'm still happy with the Breville BGR700BSS1BUS1 grill and I love the food it makes.UPDATE Cleaning is getting easier. I now immediately push the 'disconnect plates' button to withdraw them from the heat element as soon as I've removed the steak. As soon as they cool enough, I remove the grill plates and put them in the sink to pre-soak. Also, I switched to a new nylon scrubber.
Impressive
I'm really happy with this machine, I don't use the grill portion, mostly for paninis, tortillas, etc.. The temperature control makes it perfect, also, the hot plate wont stick and it's super easy to clean.. Totally recommend it
