This is an excellent series and has a very realistic view to show how WWII really was... They real dug into reality when they made this series... this is a lot better than 99% of the War TV Programming. Vic Morrow was the best and performed well with very realistic action.

The media could not be loaded. I collect a lot of DVD Box Sets. This one arrived in New Condition, standard DVD packing which is never that great, but it works. I Inspected and Tested all 5 Seasons, 1 out of 40 disc's was lose in it's container, had very slight scuff mark, that did not effect performance. Set came sealed. SEASONS 1-4 Black and White, SEASON 5 in Color, like the Original TV Broadcast, Tested 2 Random Disc's from each Season, Official Production with FBI Piracy Warnings and Studio Credits. VERY IMPORTANT All Episodes are in Order, some may be confused, example when you put in Disc 7 of Season 2, the Menu Comes up as Disc 3, but you have to look Above that to See that is Actually the 3rd Disc of the "2nd Mission" in Season 2. So you have to look at SEASON NUMBER and MISSION or INVASION Sequence, to help understand the episode order. I always remove my Disc's from their Box Set and place them in a DVD Holder to protect them. Anyway Great Purchase, hope everybody has the same experience. I had been watching first 3 seasons online, finished watching Season 4 and 5 from this Set, better quality than online video platforms. Little Pricy compared to Other Military TV Series, but not disappointed by the quality received.

The scripts and acting are excellent, and the B/W photography/video is terrific! I watched the series years ago, and now I know why I enjoyed it so much. The stories were serious and they contained morality and compassion.Aanti-war leftests didn't like Combat!, saying it was not real and that faksekt encouraged American boys to die in Vietnam. Combat! began in 1963 (years before LBJ escalated US involvement in the war) and ended in 1968. The Hell with those critics. Enjoy this series on DVD. Perhaps a colorized version will come out?

Great collection. Unfortunately the first four seasons, filmed in black and white, have sped up episodes which run about 46 minutes or so. The last season, which was filmed in color, are not sped up and run about 52 minutes. This is why I only gave it four stars. Otherwise this collection is great.

Highly regarded WW2 drama series - a classic
I just had to buy this. I remembered Combat! (with an exclamation mark as part of the title) from my childhood, when it was shown just once on ITV (I think it turned up again briefly on BSkyB in the '90s).It's highly regarded by critics, aficionados and purists alike because it shows the tension, fear and grim day-to-day life of a foot soldier in north-west Europe 1944-45. And it features great understated method-style acting by an ensemble cast headed up by the late, great Vic Morrow as the squad sergeant. Combat! doesn't glorify war - in fact it's very antwar at times, and more often than not explores the psychological aspect of the pressures on people in the front line. But there's action a-plenty too, as you might expect.Legendary director Robert Altman helmed some of the early episodes, and all five seasons include some great guest actors, many before they were well known - thinking especially of Robert Duvall, James Coburn, Charels Bronson and an already well-establshed Lee Marvin.The quality never flags over 152 episodes (4 season black & whte, season 5 in colour). Think 'Band of Brothers' three decades earlier. Highly recommended!

Best TV war series from the 60's
Loved this series as a kid and used to watch it without fail every Monday night with my Dad. Non stop action in every episode and the storyline and acting is nothing short of brilliant!You'll be amazed at the realistic stunts performed back then considering there was no CGI imagery like used in today's movies.Do yourself a favor and take a trip back to the past, you won't regret it!
