My experience with the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome fountain pen started off on a disappointing note but quickly turned into one of the best customer service encounters I’ve ever had.When I first received the pen, I was disheartened to find that the nib was not seated correctly. This resulted in excessive ink flow, hard starts, and frequent skipping—frustrating issues that no one expects from a premium writing instrument. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the tines were slightly separated, making me wonder if I had received a returned item. Additionally, it wrote more like a medium, though I purchased and expected a extra fine nib.However, this initial letdown was swiftly resolved by Scriveiner’s outstanding customer service. They were incredibly responsive and thorough, quickly arranging for a replacement. The new pen arrived promptly, and this time, it was perfect. The extra fine nib wrote exactly as it should—finer than even my Pilot pens—and has since become my go-to everyday carry (EDC) pen.Beyond its performance, the Scriveiner Classic Silver Chrome is a stunningly designed pen. It feels solid and well-balanced in hand. The chrome and gold finish exudes a refined elegance. I love love love the finial design. One of the standout features is the converter—it’s the best I’ve used, providing a smooth and reliable ink flow. Additionally, there’s a beautiful and satisfying sound and feel when you cap the pen. It’s a small but joyful detail that enhances the experience of using this exquisite pen. I'm impressed by the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating this pen.Perhaps one of the most impressive moments came after I had to set the pen aside for a few days due to illness. When I picked it up again, it wrote immediately, as if I had just used it seconds ago—something many fountain pens struggle with.Despite the rocky start, this pen has won me over completely. The combination of exquisite design, top-tier performance, and Scriveiner’s exceptional customer service makes it a worthy addition to any collection. This is a beautiful fountain pen that is well built and writes smoothly. The pen simply glides across the paper. The ink neither feathers nor bleeds and dries quickly. The ink flows well from the nib and there is absolutely zero skipping. It would make an ideal gift.

Heavy-duty, heavy and stable fountain pen for those of us who still enjoy writing with these instruments. Ink cartridges are easy to load and the pen writes without skips or big inkblots. An excellent product. If not used for a while, you will have to rinse the nib out under running water to loosen the dried ink inside, but that would happen with any fountain pen.

One of the best fountain pens I have ever used. After years it runs and writes like a high end pen. Punches way above its price point and puts Brands like Visconti to shame. Get this pen and see how your writing experience changes. Absolutely stunning pen. Never had one dry spot of false start. Always the workhorse with the polished sophisticated look.

Great pen, writes well, good ink control, good weight, groves in grip feel great, clip is sturdy and has lots of pressure. Ink converter screws in so it won’t fall out and is built sturdily. The cap clicks on tight and is very satisfying to use. Finish looks amazing and is very smooth so it won’t scratch like an enamel finish will since it’s stainless steel. Have had a few problems with ink flow but just slightly compressed the piston and began to write smoothly again. To give an idea I have had this pen for three weeks and have already written a lot with it (refilled it twice) and have only had to do this once on my second or third day using it to fix the flow.

The pen is beautiful but I keep having issues with it drying out, when I initially write, the ink takes awhile to come out, not sure why, it is so annoying, once it comes out, it writes perfect, I just wish I can figure out the initial ink dispensing.

This is a higher quality pen than you’d expect, given the price. Very smooth nib, with excellent ink flow from either cartridge or converter. Most of my use for this fine pen has been with an ink converter, but the occasional cartridge has been employed while travelling.This pen has excellent balance both posted or unposted. It sits very comfortably in my hand and writes as smoothly as you could ask for.The appearance of this pen is second to none. The beautiful gold accents on silver chrome make it one that anyone would be proud to show off in any setting. It quickly became my go-to fountain pen.I think the only thing that may surpass the look, feel, and quality is the customer support you receive as a Scriveiner customer. Inquiries are responded to quickly by an actual live human, not some chat bot or form letter.Overall, I have never purchased a better writing instrument than this pen. I would recommend it to anyone.

I’ve been buying and using fountain pens for over 40 years and this one is my favorite, hands down. First of all, the craftsmanship is flawless and beautiful. Secondly, from the second I pulled it out of the box and started writing, it was smooth and just glided across the paper. Third, it has good weight. I don’t like light, thin, and flimsy pens. I need something that fits firmly in my hands and feels like a substantial piece. And finally, the price…UNBELIEVABLE! How they can sell such an awesome product at this price? Not a better deal out there.I will never buy another brand of fountain pen again and I’m sorry it took me so long to find this one. I am a fan of this pen, and the company that produces it, for life.

Nach einer Unterhaltung mit einem Montblanc-Fan hatte ich das dringende Bedürfnis, mit nach langer Zeit auch einmal wieder einen guten und schönen Füller zuzulegen, wollte aber nicht so krass viel Geld dafür ausgeben. Nach ein bisschen Recherche landete ich bei Scriveiner und war von der Eleganz dieser Füller beeindruckt. Über den Preis muss man in dem Fall ja sowieso nicht reden - bestellt und ab Ankunft schockverliebt! Liegt super in der Hand, gleitet wie Butter über die Seiten und kleckst absolut gar nicht. Würde ich immer wieder kaufen!

I bought the silver version and it is elegant and smooth to write with. I am very happy with the purchase and plan to buy the fountain pen in black and gold.I recommend it. I am using it with the black ink from Waterman.

Sheer Luxury at an Affordable Price Point
In truth, I haven't used pen and ink since being forced too when at school. (Yes I'm that old!). The desks having a hole in them so as the ink well could sit in there and you dipped the nib of the woooden stemmed pen into the ink and practice joined up writing. Invariably it would scratch the paper and often tear into it. Not a happy childhood memory.However, a few years ago I was asked to sign an important document and the person produced a fountain pen and the sheer joy of signing my name with this pen was tangible.In recent years I have been asked to sign a number of documents and whenever I do I recall being offered that fountain pen, and I knew it was time to lay the ghosts of childhood to rest and purchase a fountain pen of my own.So I researched which pen would best suit me and, based upon the postive reviews, the Scriviener fountain pen seemed to stand out.Having purchased this pen, I have not been disappointed. It is beautiful to look at and the weight of it is perfect. The ink flow to the nib is consistent and the fluidity of the nib on the paper makes for a smooth and easy writing action. Simply signing my name seems to add a creative flourish to ordinary writing tasks.The quality, elegance and design of the pen belies its price point. It is sheer luxury at an affordable price.It is so perefct that it encourages me to write more as opposed to typing everything on a keyboard or on a mobile phone screen.The pen adds a touch of elegance and is wonderfully beautiful.An extremely happy customer.
