My apartment was overrun by fruit flies and I tried sticky traps, light traps, fly swatters, and even tried making my own traps out of apple cider vinegar. NOTHING WORKED, Except these traps! They started working immediately!!! The flies are super attracted to the traps and I only saw one fly “escape” from a trap (I guess he was the smartest). If homemade traps aren’t working, TRY THIS!!

I made the mistake of buying 12 of these traps, and it was a complete waste of money. The gnats / fruit flies / no-see-ums simply are not interested AT ALL. For years I had been using Bye Bye Fruit Fly in open cups or cans, and that works great, but is unsightly and prone to messy accidental spills. So these traps seemed like they’d do the same thing, and look nicer, and not spill. But the flies just refuse to go into these traps. Something about the design of the holes, I don’t know if insufficient scent gets out, or if the flies can’t find their way in, but I’m still struggling with them flying all over. And I’m in a studio apartment, and have had 12 of these traps set up all around for two weeks now. They’re not catching ANYTHING.

One day I was suddenly endlessly being pestered by fruit flies that would buzz around my face, and it got bad enough that they’d try to fly up my nose and around my ears when I sleep. After a week of this, I got these traps and used the liquid in the pouches.Since the day that I set these traps up, I haven’t seen a single fruit fly buzzing about. I saw one dead fruit fly in the trap placed in the kitchen, but after a few days, the body was completely gone. I don’t see any dead fruit flies in rest of the traps either, although fruit flies are definitely gone.What’s going on? Is the vinegar solution that came with the traps so strong and acidic that it melts bugs?? Is something else somehow eating the vinegar marinated pickled fruit flies?? I have no idea, all I know is that there are no more fruit flies.So did it work? I don’t know. Maybe these traps solved the pest problem, or maybe it was because of some external factor. Strange!I like that these traps are compact and reusable, so there’s that.

Saw the mixed reviews, but the one thing about these that are nice is adding something like sugar in is easy. Once we added some sugar and mixed that in, it was no problem to start catching them. It's still not perfect, but it's doing a decent job.

Just add apple cider vinegar with a bit of sugar and a drop of dish soap. That’s what is in the packs that come with them. These work. I’ve used homemade traps with a small bottle and a paper cone for years. This just saves me the trouble of making my ugly homemade ones with the cones taped on for escape security. The top comes off the little cup easily but not so easy that you have to worry about it, and like I said, they work!!

I had a problem with fruit flies. I bought 2 sets of these and within one week they were gone and I can't believe how many were in each trap. I had no idea we had that many.
