5.0 out of 5 stars After 2 Years, It's Still Sharp!

The product cuts through everything easily. The knife is a little heavy if you're holding it for a while, but definitely worth it!
5.0 out of 5 stars The knife of all knives.
This knife is ready to take on anything in the kitchen. It is sharp and cuts most anything like butter. The design is beautiful with the pattern of the blade. It is a single piece design that is not going to separate from the handle. As always with a sharp knife, one should be careful, as you can cut hands and fingers. This one is not exception. We have ordered and used many of this manufacturer in our household. Never have been disappointed. Highly recommended.
5.0 out of 5 stars Totally worth it for the price
I own quite a few Japanese style knives sense cooking is one of my favourite things to do after work, I don’t work at all in the restaurant or food prep sector so I find it,(most of time) very relaxing after a days work. I didn’t need any more, that’s for sure, but this popped up on Bolo Prime days, and I looked into it and said what the heck, for that price, just under $28, what’s one more? I own three Mercer Japanese chef style knives, which all run around $60 apiece, I also have a genuine Damascus knife worth about $90. That said, for $28, this knife is really really nice. Super sharp out of the box, I like that it’s a 15° angle, feels good in the hand, and it looks darn nice also. I like that it’s very wide so it’s easy to prep veggies and cut meat without the worry of hitting your fingertips. If there is one complaint, it would be that the food does stick to the knife when cutting, especially high water content veggies like potatoes and onions, but all knives stick, I have hammered knives and also dimpled knives and they also have a problem with food stick, you just deal with it. Having said all this, for this price, this is a great knife, great value..
4.0 out of 5 stars Fine for the price
I will admit I have a more expensive nakiri knife that I use at home and was buying this one to keep with camping gear, so my basis of comparison is a nicer knife. This knife is heavier and therefore doesn’t handle as smoothly. The blade is also thicker at the top/blunt edge which makes it harder to slice through things. I have only used it for cutting vegetables; nothing terribly tough or thick to cut. It cleans up nicely and I do like the finger guard that came with it as I took a chunk out of my finger with my other knife when it was new. All in all, a decent knife for the price point.
5.0 out of 5 stars My new favorite knife
Holy crap I like this knife. My go to was one of two chef's knives that I've owned for about fifteen years. One finally met its demise due to an unfortunate accident. Figured I'd check out what was out there rather than just buy another chef's knife blindly. I read about Nakiri knives and figured I'd give one a try. Extremely easy to chop vegetables and fruit and if you want to paper thin slices, it is crazy easy. I read that they weren't really intended for meat but I've had no issues so far with tri tip or boneless chicken. I would not recommend this be used on anything with bone unless you're careful. Too thin for that. I don't know how this knife compares to other Nakiri knives, or if they're all this way, but this is a damn good knife.
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Knife Great for Dicing
Nicely surprised with this knife. Handle is comfortable and allows for an easy grip near the blade and not so wide as to be cumbersome for smaller hands. The rounded front edge and the non-tapered blade makes fast work of slicing hard vegetables and dicing. I still prefer a santoku when going for thinner slices of "stickier" vegetables like potatoes only because you get less stick to the blade than you do with this nakiri style, but it does wonders with mincing garlic, julienning carrots and general chopping. The one thing I don't love are the the "wood grain" swirls on the blade itself. Stylistically, it's odd, and I would've preferred a clean blade without any design features, but that's a personal preference. Comes nicely packaged in a giftable box and would make a lovely housewarming gift for your favorite chef.
5.0 out of 5 stars Added YEARS to my life, for real!!
I order a lot of things from Bolo. If I wrote a review for everything, I wouldn't have much of a life. That's why I only write reviews when I'm truly wowed. This knife impressed me for sure. I've know that quality, professional knives can be a timesaver, but holy cow, they are expensive! Saw this knife pop up after a search for a new set of knives as my old, dull, inexpensive ones wern't making the cut...pun intended 🤭 Made vegetable soup today & this baby went thru everything I threw at it with ease. I swear it cut the usual prep time in half; again, pun intended. 😊 Beautifully packaged (would make a great gift) and comes with useful accessories like blade & finger protection. Absolutely love it!!

Awesome knife for an awesome price
I picked this up on a whim during a Prime Day sale, and it quickly became my favourite knife in the kitchen. I like the shape and style, it has a good weight and is still easy to hold. This is the first nakiri I've used, I've mostly used chefs knives and a santoku or two. The edge was razor sharp when I got it, and is still holding that edge after a quick hone on a steel every once in a while. Step out of your comfort zone with the knives you're used to, and give this one a shot!
