You’ll choose either Turtwig, Chimchar, or Piplup to be your first partner Pokémon and then set off on your journey to become the Champion of the Pokémon League. Along the way, you’ll run into the mysterious organization Team Galactic, and be able to encounter the Legendary Pokémon Palkia.
Explore the revamped Grand Underground or put on a Super Contest Show
The Underground from the Pokémon Pearl Version game has been powered up and is now called the Grand Underground. Here, you can dig up valuable treasure and Pokémon Fossils, create your own Secret Base, and more! When you aren’t exploring in the Grand Underground, enter a Super Contest Show! Super Contest Shows are events put on by four performers and their partner Pokémon, who work together to dance and show off their skills. You can also adventure in the Grand Underground or put on a Super Contest Show with other players through the local* or online** communication of your Nintendo Switch system!
Walk with your Pokémon, change up your style, and customize your Poké Balls
Choose a Pokémon that you’ve befriended during your journey to walk along behind you in the game. Depending on the Pokémon, you’ll see different gestures or ways of walking, and when you talk to your Pokémon, it will respond. You’ll also be able to add your own personal style!

If you loved playing diamond/pearl when it first came out, then you’ll LOVE playing brilliant diamond and shinning pearl. I’m not a fan of the chino art style, but honestly when I actually had the game in my hands it doesn’t look that bad. Looked pretty nice seeing it in person. The game is still very fun just like I remember when I was a kid playing it. I know a lot of people have a problem with the exp share being on all the time and I do notice that I’m a bit high leveled. That doesn’t exactly bother me since I’m just playing the story right now so it’s whatever, I do wish there was an option to turn it off. The visuals look great, seeing all these old scenes remade is amazing and this whole game was a great trip down memory lane. If you liked playing the originals then this is a MUST so buy it now! Also one thing I’d like to note is that this is a diamond and pearl remake, not platinum. So don’t expect to many platinum elements. Overall I’m enjoying the game and thank you to Bolo for sending me this a day early! It really made my whole day better to come home from a long day of work to see this in my mailbox! On a last note, when you get near post game this game DOES get pretty hard out of nowhere so if you like a challenge you’ll love this part. The gym leaders and e4 get harder and have fully ev trained Pokemon the second time you fight them. As a competitive player I LOVE this addition to the game. I’m sure others will too!

The game itself is pretty good for the most part, and a faithful recreation of the Gen 4 games.The -1 star is that it was a little too faithful on one thing. The difficulty curve. The game gets pretty difficult by the end, and since every team is apparently made by competitive Pokémon players, you're not going to have a fun time by the end.I wish it was more like a recreated Platinum, since the difficulty curve there wasn't as severe, but oh well.
